  • The grant will provide $25,000 to be used to develop a business case supporting Renascor’s construction of graphite concentrate and downstream processing facilities in South Australia for the Siviour Graphite Deposit

  • A portion of grants funds will be used to consider the addition of an advanced production facility to produce spherical graphite for use in lithium-ion batteries

  • This is the second grant Renascor has received this year from the South Australian Government for Siviour, following a $100,000 grant for mineral process test work

Renascor Resources (ASX: RNU) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a grant by South Australian State Government under the Future Jobs Fund, a government-sponsored program to support the development of globally competitive industries and industrial capabilities within South Australia.

The co-funded grant will provide $25,000 to be used to develop a business case supporting the construction of graphite concentrate and downstream processing facilities for the Siviour Graphite Deposit.

Renascor recently announced favourable results from its Siviour Scoping Study, which considered the construction of a flake graphite concentrate facility to be located on the project site in Arno Bay, South Australia. See Renascor ASX release dated 23 May 2017.

As part of the study to be undertaken with funds from the recently received grant, Renascor will consider the addition of a downstream production facility in South Australia to produce spherical graphite for use in lithium-ion batteries, with work to commence immediately.

Commenting on the grant, Managing Director David Christensen stated:

We are extremely appreciative of the South Australian State Government’s continued support for the Siviour Graphite Project. Renascor firmly believes that the graphite supply chain is in strong need of secure, low-cost graphite supply from a low sovereign risk jurisdiction like South Australia.

This grant, the second that Renascor has received from the South Australian Government this year, highlights the benefits to Renascor of operating in not only a low sovereign risk environment, but in a supportive jurisdiction that assists in advancing high quality projects like Siviour.
