EASTERN EYRE PROJECT UPDATE

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Recently completed airborne electromagnetic (EM) survey reveals strong conductors over iron-oxide, copper-gold-uranium (IOCGU) targets at Renaissance’s 100%-owned Eastern Eyre Project within Olympic Dam IOCGU belt

  • Conductive zones are spatially coincident with previously identified geochemical and geophysical anomalies, suggesting that the conductivity anomalies are reflecting zones of increased sulphide or oxide content

  • Coincidence of geophysical parameters (magnetics, gravity and conductivity) suggests similarities to responses observed at Rex Mineral’s Hillside deposit located in the southern end of the Olympic Dam IOCGU belt

  • Final access approval for Renaissance’s initial drill program issued by Department of Defence

  • Renaissance currently seeking final work program approval from South Australian mines department for initial drill program

Renaissance Uranium Limited (ASX: RNU) is pleased to provide an update on its 100%-owned Eastern Eyre Project, located within the southern portion of the Olympic Dam IOCGU belt. The project consists of three granted exploration licences, including EL 4721 and EL 5012, where Renaissance has identified multiple untested targets prospective for large, IOCGU-style mineralisation. See Figure 2. Renaissance recently completed an airborne EM survey over portions of EL 5012, resulting in the identification of strong conductors coincident with previously identified geochemical and gravity anomalies. Additionally, Renaissance has now received final access approval from the Department of Defence, which holds land access rights to EL 5012, to conduct initial drill testing over targets located within EL 5012. Renaissance is currently seeking final work program approval from South Australia’s Department of Manufacturing, Innovation, Trade, Resources and Energy (DMITRE) in anticipation of commencing drilling of targets within EL 5012 and EL 4721.

AEM survey

Renaissance recently completed an airborne EM survey over priority target areas within EL 5012. The survey focused on an area proximate to the “1050” zone of historical drilling, where ore-grade copper has previously been intersected and Renaissance’s subsequent detailed geophysical surveys have identified several gravity and magnetic anomalies consistent with IOCGU style mineralisation associated with the Roopena Fault zone. See Figure 2 and RNU ASX releases dated 4 March 2013 and 15 January 2013. As shown in Figure 1, the EM survey has identified an extensive conductive zone to the immediate west and south of previously identified strongly anomalous copper in rotary air blast (RAB) drill holes at the 1050 prospect. Additionally, to the northwest, Renaissance has defined a zone of conductive features coincident with the northern limit of the Wizo Well gravity/magnetic target.

Renaissance considers the coincidence of geophysical parameters (magnetics, gravity and conductivity) to be very comparable to the responses observed at the Hillside deposit currently being evaluated by Rex Minerals Limited

(ASX: RXM). The combined geophysical responses for Wizo Well are summarised in Figure 3, showing the extent of the aeromagnetic anomaly and interpreted model for the coincident gravity target. The airborne EM data have defined a northwest trending conductive zone coincident with the northern portion of the gravity/magnetic target and more strongly conductive zones immediately to the northwest.

At Hillside, the lower order conductive zone across the southern portion of the aeromagnetic zone is inferred to reflect the development of supergene oxide copper mineralisation directly above the north-south trending copper sulphide ore bodies. Renaissance considers that similar conductive zones at Wizo Well may be sourced from similar material or may reflect development of higher-grade sulphide mineralisation more directly associated with the magnetic source. As a result, Renaissance considers the recently completed airborne EM survey to have provided significant new information on possible mineralised positions within the project area and to justify the use of airborne EM to locate high priority drill targets for copper ore bodies. In particular, Renaissance believes additional EM may be warranted within and around the Roopena Fault zone extending both to the north and south of the existing coverage area.

Next steps

Renaissance has undertaken Aboriginal heritage clearances over identified targets in EL 4721 and EL 5012 and has submitted to DMTIRE a final work program approval regarding drill-testing targets located within these tenements. With respect to EL 5012, before commencing such activities, Renaissance has further agreed with DMITRE to seek consent from the Department of Defence, which is seeking to expand its Cultana Training Area (located to the east of EL 5012) onto EL 5012. Last month, Renaissance entered into a deed of access with the Department of Defence setting forth exploration protocols to follow prior to commencing drilling activities within EL 5012. See RNU ASX release dated 20 June 2013. Renaissance recently received from the Department of Defence final access approval to conduct initial drill testing in EL 5012. With this approval now obtained, Renaissance is currently seeking final regulatory approvals from DMITRE and intends to commence drilling upon receiving such approvals.
