ANNOUNCEMENT

In accordance with and for the purposes of article 17 of the Regulation (EU) No 596/2014, of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 16 April 2014, of article 248A of the Portuguese Securities Code and other applicable regulations, REN – Redes Energéticas Nacionais, SGPS, S.A. hereby informs the market and the public of the following:

The ERSE – Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) has approved Regulation 6/2020 that sets out the extraordinary extension of the regulation period 2018-2020 of the electricity sector until 2021, thus applying in 2021 the regulatory parameters approved for the regulation period 2018-2020. This decision has been taken as a result of the current sanitary crisis caused by Covid-19, as in ERSE's understanding this triggers an unpredictability that does not allow, at this stage, the definition of new targets and regulatory methodologies to be applied in a 3 years period, i.e. in the new regulatory period.
