Putin discusses 'multipolar global order' with China's Xi

Russian President Vladimir Putin had a call Tuesday with Chinese President Xi Jinping, emphasising the two countries' close ties, a day after Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th US president. The two leaders have developed strong personal links that helped bring relations between Moscow and Beijing, growing even closer after Putin sent troops into Ukraine in 2022. China has become a major customer of Russian oil and gas and a source of key technologies amid sweeping Western sanctions on Moscow. In Tuesday's call with Xi, Putin emphasised that Russia-China relations are based on shared interests, equality and mutual benefits, noting that they "don't depend on internal political factors and the current international environment."

"We jointly support the development of a more just multipolar global order and work to ensure indivisible security in Eurasia and the world as a whole," Putin told Xi in remarks carried by the Russian state TV. "Joint efforts by Russia and China play an important stabilising role in global affairs." Xi similarly praised close coop-

eration between Moscow and Beijing, saying it helps "bring positive energy to reforming and developing the global system".

While neither leader directly mentioned Trump in the televised fragment of their call, the timing of the conversation may signal that Putin and Xi want to coordinate their action in dialogue with the new US

administration.

The Chinese president had a call with Trump on Friday and expressed hope for positive

ties with the US. Trump had threatened to impose tariffs and other measures against China in his second term, while also hinting at ways in which the two rival powers could cooperate on issues such as regional conflicts and curbing the export of substances used in the production of fentanyl. Putin, who is yet to talk to Trump, congratulated him on taking office in televised remarks during a video call with officials and welcomed his intention to open a dialogue with Moscow.

Trump told reporters Monday after taking office that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had told him he wanted to make a peace deal and voiced hope that Putin would follow suit. He added that Putin would be destroying Russia by failing to make a deal, pointing out Russia's economic troubles,

including high inflation. Putin hailed Trump's openness

to dialogue as he spoke to Russia's Security Council members shortly before the US president's inauguration.

"We hear the statements from Trump and members of his team about their desire to restore direct contact with Russia, which were halted through no fault of ours by the outgoing administration," Putin said on Monday. "We also hear his statements about the need to do everything to prevent World War III. We certainly welcome such an approach and congratulate the US president-elect on taking office."

The Russian leader also stressed that dialogue between the two nations should be based on "equal basis and mutual respect, taking into account the important role our countries play on some key issues on the global agenda, including the strengthening of global stability and security".

Putin also noted that Moscow is open to dialogue with the Trump administration on the conflict in Ukraine, emphasising the need to respect Russia's interests and adding that "the most important thing is to remove the root causes of the crisis"."As for the settlement of the situation, I would like to underline that its goal should not be a short truce, not some kind of respite for regrouping forces and rearmament with the aim of subsequently continuing the conflict, but a long-term peace based on respect for the legitimate interests of all people, all nations living in this region," Putin said.

Negotiations between Pak govt, Imran's party hang in balance over formation of judicial commissions

The future of negotiations between the government and the opposition party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), remains uncertain due to disagreements over the formation of judicial commissions to investigate the events of May 9, 2023, and Nov 26, 2024.

Formal talks between the two sides commenced on December 23 of last year, aiming to ease the ongoing political tension and instability caused by PTI's protests against alleged electoral rigging and the arrests of its

members and leaders. PTI presented its charter of demands during the third round of talks held on Jan 16, giving the government a seven-day timeline to set up two judicial commissions to probe the incidents of May 9, 2023 and Nov 26, 2024.

The key demand has become a sticking point, as the government has yet to agree to form the commissions. In response, PTI's incarcerated leader Imran Khan has instructed his party to withdraw from the talks if the demand is not fulfilled.

PTI chief Gohar Ali Khan told the media on Monday outside Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail that Khan had directed the negotiating team to withdraw from talks if the judicial commission was not formed within seven days. Khan, 72, has been lodged at the Adiala Jail since mid-2023 in multiple cases. Emphasising that the establishment of the judicial commission was critical for a

meaningful dialogue, Gohar said if the government did not move forward on forming the commissions, there was no point in continuing the negotiations. Gohar said there wouldn't be a fourth round of talks if the commissions were not constituted. However, he added that the PTI team would wait for seven days for a response from the govern-

ment side. On May 9, 2023, violent protests erupted after the arrest of Khan by paramilitary Rangers from the premises of the Islamabad High Court. His party workers vandalised a dozen military installations, including the Jinnah House (Lahore Corps Commander house), and the ISI building in Faisalabad. Khan had said he was implicated in the May 9 cases as a result of a "wellorchestrated plan" to "harass" him for political reasons. On November 13 last year, Khan issued a "final call" for nationwide protests on November 26, demanding

the restoration of the PTI's electoral mandate, the release of detained party members, and the reversal of the 26th constitutional amendment. Responding to his call, thousands of PTI workers reached Islamabad but faced a crackdown by police, which forcibly dispersed them while arresting more than 1,400.

Meanwhile, the government's negotiation committee was mulling over extending its seven-day deadline by another week to submit its response to the PTI demands, said Senator Irfan Siddiqui, the spokesperson for the government's negotiation committee. "Currently, the seven parties, included in the government committee, are in the process

of mutual consultation and seeking guidance from their respective leaderships," Senator Siddiqui posted on X on Monday, adding that "it may take another week to prepare the final response". His statement came against the backdrop of several reports that claimed that the government side's response was ready and it had decided not to constitute a judicial commission on the May 9 incident. Siddiqui refuted the reports,

terming them "baseless" and asserting that there was no truth in the news. PTI has earlier announced to conclude the talks by January 31, however, the deadline is unlikely to be met due to the current differences over the core demands.

South Korea's Yoon defends his martial law decree in first public appearance since arrest

Seoul (PTI): South Korea's impeached president denied Tuesday that he ordered the military to drag lawmakers out of the National Assembly to prevent them from voting to reject his martial law decree last month, as he appeared for the first time before the Constitutional Court that will determine his fate.

Yoon Suk Yeol's presence at the court was his first public appearance since becoming South Korea's first sitting president to be detained over his short-lived declaration of martial law, which plunged the country into political turmoil. After abruptly imposing martial law on Dec 3, Yoon sent troops and police officers to encircle the National Assembly, but enough lawmakers managed to enter to vote unanimously to reject his decree, forcing Yoon's Cabinet to lift the measure early the following morning.

Yoon, a conservative, has since argued that his dispatch of troops was not meant to block the assembly but instead was a warning to the main liberal opposition Democratic Party, which has used its legislature majority to obstruct Yoon's agenda, undermine his budget bill and impeach some of his top officials. In his announcement of martial law, Yoon called the assembly "a den of criminals" that was bogging down government affairs, and vowed to eliminate "shameless North Korea followers and anti-state forces". The commanders of military

units sent to the assembly have disagreed with Yoon's stance. Kwak Jong-keun, commander of a special forces unit, told an assembly hearing that Yoon had called him directly and asked that his troops "quickly destroy the door and drag out the lawmakers who are inside." Kwak said he didn't carry out the order.

Asked by acting Constitutional Court chief justice Moon Hyungbae whether he ordered the commanders to pull out the lawmakers, Yoon replied that he

didn't do so. Yoon said the lawmakers could have gathered somewhere later to overturn the decree. He also argued that there would have been a popular backlash if he had tried to physically prevent an assembly vote.

"If I had obstructed (the vote), I think I wouldn't have been able to handle the consequences," Yoon said.

Asked by Moon about reports that he gave a memo on establishing an emergency legislative body to a top official before imposing martial law, Yoon said he didn't do so. Whether Yoon plotted to launch such a body would help explain his true intentions for martial law.

The assembly impeached Yoon on Dec 14, suspending his presidential powers. The Constitutional Court has until June to determine whether to formally dismiss him as president or reinstate him. Observers say a court ruling is expected to come sooner. Separately, law enforcement authorities are investigating whether Yoon and others committed rebellion, abuse

of power and other crimes in connection with the martial law decree. By law, the leader of a rebellion can face life in prison or the death penalty.

KPK CM Gandapur plans to send delegation to Afghanistan

Peshawar (PTI): Pakistan's Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has announced plans to send a delegation to Afghanistan within two weeks to address Pak-Afghan issues, including cross-border militancy. Talking to the media on Monday, Gandapur said that terrorism in the region cannot be eliminated through operations, air strikes and use of force.

"The federal government talked about negotiations with Afghanistan over bilateral issues, but there's no success. Now, the dialogue with Kabul will be held at the provincial level. A delegation of our [KP] government will meet Afghan officials within two weeks," Gandapur told reporters. The nation has been reeling under rising violent attacks since the Taliban rulers returned to power in Afghanistan in 2021, particularly in the bordering provinces of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. The year 2024 turned out to be the deadliest for Pakistan's civil and military security forces in a decade, with at least 685 fatalities and 444 terror attacks, according to "CRSS Annual Security Report 2024" issued by the Centre for Security and Strategic Studies.

अज्ञात वाहन ने ली ऑटो चालक की जान

नई दिल्ली। ज्योति नगर थानांतर्गत एक ऑटो चालक को किसी अज्ञात वाहन ने टक्कर मार दी, जिसमे ऑटो चालक की मौत हो गई। फिलहाल पलिस ने मामला दर्ज कर जांच शुरू कर दी है। मृतक की पहचान अर्जुन (54) के रूप में हुई है। वह अपने परिवार के साथ दरियाई मोहल्ला. भोलानाथ नगर शाहदरा में रहते थे। उनके परिवार में पत्नी मंज. बेटा विपिन. बेटी पनम है। विपिन ने बताया रविवार सुबह करीब 4.15 पर किसी अज्ञात वाहन ने दुर्गा पूरी चौक के पास उसके पिता की ऑटो में टक्कर मारी थी।

ऑटो गोकलपुरी से शाहदरा की तरफ जा रही थी, जिसके बाद अज्ञात वाहन चालक वहां से फरार हो गया। दुर्घटना में उसके पिता सिर और शरीर के कई हिस्सों में अंदरूनी चोट आई थी, जिन्हें इलाज के लिए गुरु तेग बहादुर अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया, जहां इलाज के दौरान सोमवार को मौत हो गई। फिलहाल पुलिस ने मामला दर्ज कर जांच शुरू कर दी है।

ग्रेटर नौएडा औद्योगिक विकास प्राधिकरण के अन्तर्गत M/s Solaris Realtech Pvt Ltd भूखण्ड सख्या-GH-16B, Sector-01, Greater Noida को दिनांक 01.05.2023 को मानचित्र स्वीकृति प्रदान की गयी थी। तदोपरान्त विकासकर्ता द्वारा (Group Housing project) को आंशिक अधिभोग प्रमाण - पत्र हेतु ऑनलाईन के माध्यम से आवेदन सख्या-
CC-8687 दिनांक 12.07.2024 है। तत्क्रम में U.P.-Apartment Act &-2010 Amendment 2016 in Section-4 Sub Section-B के अन्तर्गत परियोजना के आर्वटियों से आपत्ति ∕सुझाव आर्मोत्रत किये जाने का प्रावधान है। इस सम्बन्ध में विकासकर्ता द्वाग प्रस्तुत स्वीकृति मानचित्र एवं Declarations as per UP Apartment Act-2010 परीक्षण किसी भी कार्यदिवस मे सुबह 9:30 से सायं 6:00 बजे के मध्य नियोजन विभाग में तथ प्राधिकरण की वेबसाईट पर किया जा सकता है।

अत: उपरोक्त परियोजना के आवटियों द्वारा Sanction Map एवं Declarations as per UP Apartment Act-2010 के सम्बन्ध में सूचना प्रकाशित करने के 30 दिनों के अन्दर आपत्तियां ⁄ सुझाव आर्मोत्रत को जाती है। उपरोक्त के निहितार्थ अपनी आपत्तिया लिखित रूप ग अपने आवंटन पत्र, नाम, पत्ता एवं दूरभाष नम्बर के साथ कार्यालय समय व कार्यदिवस में ग्रेटर नोएडा प्राधिकरण के मुख्य प्रशासनिक कार्यालय, भूखण्ड सख्यां 1 नॉलेज पार्क 4 ग्रेटर नोएडा मे स्थित महाप्रबन्धक ( नियोजन / वास्तु0 ) को सम्बोधित करते हुए सूचना प्रकाशित होने के 30 दिवसे के अन्दर जमा करायी जा सकती है।

'धोबी समुदाय कल्याण बोर्ड का करेंगे गठन'

नई दिल्ली आम आदमी पार्टी के राष्ट्रीय संयोजक अरविंद केजरीवाल ने मंगलवार को दिल्ली में धोबी समाज के विकास के लिए कई गारंटी दी। उन्होंने कहा कि मैं 'आप' के राष्ट्रीय संयोजक और पार्टी का सीएम उम्मीदवार के तौर पर धोबी समाज की लंबित मांगों को स्वीकार करता हं और ऐलान करता हूं कि दिल्ली में हमारी सरकार बनने पर हम धोबी समुदाय कल्याण बोर्ड का गठन करेंगे। केजरीवाल ने कहा कि धोबी समाज लोग बोर्ड में अपनी समस्याएं और सुझाव दे सकेंगे। इसके अलावा हमारी सरकार धोबी समाज के प्रेस थड़े को नियमित और लाइसेंस प्रक्रिया को दोबारा शुरू करेगी। इनसे बिजली और पानी का चार्ज कमर्शिलय नहीं, बल्कि घरेलू लिया जाएगा। इनके बच्चों के लिए अच्छी शिक्षा और स्कॉलरशिप का इंतजाम किया जाएगा और युवाओं को स्किल की ट्रेनिंग दी जाएगी। आम आदमी पार्टी के राष्टीय संयोजक अरविंद केजरीवाल ने मंगलवार को पार्टी मुख्यालय में धोबी समाज के लिए ब ?ा एलान करते हुए कहा कि धोबी समाज की कई सालों से कई मांगे रही हैं। मैं आज आम आदमी पार्टी के राष्ट्रीय संयोजक और सीएम उम्मीदवार के तौर पर धोबी समाज की मांगों को कबल करते हुए ऐलान करता हूं कि हमारी सरकार बनने पर दिल्ली सरकार धोबी समुदाय कल्याण बोर्ड का गठन करेगी।

वजीरपुर विधानसभा में कई लोग 'आप' में शामिल

नई दिल्ली। आम आदमी पार्टी के कामों और अरविंद केजरीवाल की नीतियों से प्रभावित होकर वजीरपुर विधानसभा क्षेत्र से कई सम्मानित लोग ''आप'' में शामिल हो गए। मंगलवार को ''आप'' के वरिष्ठ नेता और दिल्ली के पूर्व उपमुख्यमंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने इन्हें पटका और टोपी पहनाकर आम आदमी पार्टी में स्वागत किया। मनीष सिसोदिया ने कहा कि सभी लोगों की अपने क्षेत्र में अच्छी छवि है। मंगलवार को आम आदमी पार्टी में शामिल होने वालों में प्रमुख रूप से पूर्व पार्षद उम्मीदवार महेशा खारी, पूर्व पार्षद प्रत्याशी कुलदीप यादव, अशोक विहार वार्ड के ब्लॉक अध्यक्षा जोगिंदर खारी समेत अन्य लोग हैं। इनके साथ ही डीपीसीसी के प्रतिनिधि अनिल खारी (मिंटू) वजीरपुर विधानसभा से महासचिव निखिल राजपूत, नितिन वर्मा और अमित कुमार, वीपी अशोक विहार वार्ड से अमित सिंह, अशोक विहार वार्ड के सचिव इरफान मलिक, बूथ अध्यक्ष कालू, संजय, बालन, सोनू सिसोदिया, अन्ना सिसोदिया, मनोज कश्यप शामिल हुए। इनके अलावा, मोहित कश्यप, दीपक कश्यप, अन्नू कश्यप, विक्की कश्यप, जे.के., रवि, हरीश, चाँद खान, छोटू खान और राजू कश्यप भी आम आदमी पार्टी में शामिल हुए।

कोर्ट ने मकोका मामले के आरोपी को दी जमानत

नई दिल्ली। दिल्ली की एक अदालत ने कथित तौर पर कुख्यात गिरोह का सदस्य होने के कारण महाराष्ट्र संगठित अपराध नियंत्रण अधिनियम (मकोका) के तहत आरोपी बनाने के बाद हिरासत में लिए गए एक व्यक्ति को जमानत दे दी। अदालत ने कहा कि आरोपी राहत पाने की दो शर्तों को पूरा करता है। मकोका के प्रावधानों के अनुसार, जमानत तभी दी जा सकती है जब अदालत के पास यह मानने का उचित आधार हो कि आरोपी दोषी नहीं है और जमानत पर रहते हुए उसके द्वारा कोई अन्य अपराध करने की संभावना नहीं है।

आप कार्यकर्ताओं को धमकाया : आतिशी नई दिल्ली। दिल्ली की मुख्यमंत्री और आगामी विधानसभा चुनाव में कालकाजी से आम आदमी पार्टी (आप) उम्मीदवार आतिशी ने मंगलवार को निर्वाचन अधिकारियों को पत्र लिखकर आरोप लगाया कि

उनकी पार्टी के कार्यकर्ताओं को भाजपा कार्यकर्ताओं द्वारा डराया और धमकाया जा रहा है। उन्होंने निर्वाचन क्षेत्र में सुरक्षा बलों की तैनाती का अनुरोध किया है। उनके द्वारा लगाए गए आरोपों पर भाजपा को ओर से तत्काल कोई प्रतिक्रिया

नहीं मिल पाई। आम आदमी पार्टी (आप) के राष्ट्रीय संयोजक अरविंद केजरीवाल ने एक्स पर एक पोस्ट में आरोप लगाया कि पुलिस के संरक्षण और सहायता के तहत भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) के कार्यकर्ता दिल्ली के लोगों के साथ खुलेआम गुंडागर्दी कर रहे हैं और उन्हें धमका रहे हैं।

कालकाजी के निर्वाचन अधिकारी को दी गई शिकायत में आतिशी ने सोमवार को गोविंदपुरी इलाके में आप कार्यकर्ताओं को डराने–धमकाने की घटना का हवाला दिया।
