Western Australian minerals exploration company Hannans Reward Ltd (ASX:HNR) is scheduled to commence the next phase of RC drilling at its flagship Forrestania nickel sulphide project located ~100 km’s south of Southern Cross in the Goldfields Region of Western Australia.
Hannans Reward controls a significant tenure package at Forrestania adjoining and along strike from nickel mines owned by Western Areas NL (market capitalisation A$1.2Bn) – refer Figures 1 and 2. The aim of this program is to identify nickel sulphide mineralisation.
Hannans’ Exploration Manager Don Huntly said, “We’ve been working up these targets by combining our interpretation of the Forrestania geology together with the geophysical and geochemical results received from our own exploration activities. The RC holes are targeting specific nickel and gold anomalies.
We’ve also planned six RC holes at Lucy Rocks to assess whether the western ultramafic unit folds around Beautiful Sunday West. If we intercept ultramafic rocks in the RC drilling it significantly increases the nickel prospectivity of the Lucy Rocks prospect area”.
