Hannans Reward Ltd Exploring for Gold & Base Metals
ASX:HNR
8 October 2007
Drilling at Forrestania
Forrestania (near Hyden, Western Australia) – Nickel
• Reverse circulation (RC) drilling to test eight nickel targets approx 15km north of Western Areas NL's high grade nickel sulphide mine (Flying Fox) has commenced.
Summary
"Forrestania is a great place to be exploring for nickel sulphides; one only has to look at the high grade nickel mine and nickel deposits owned by our immediate neighbours to appreciate the potential of this project.
We're hopeful that this drilling programme will return results that may indicate the presence of significant nickel mineralisation within the joint venture's ground package. We've all been waiting for these targets, identified in May, to be tested so it's an exciting time for shareholders.
After completion of this drilling programme we'll recommence geophysical surveys to identify other areas within the land package that may represent nickel targets. There's a lot of exploration that needs to take place before we've fully tested the nickel potential of the Forrestania project," Damian Hicks, Managing Director, Hannans Reward Ltd.
A total of 1,650m has been planned for this drilling programme, with holes ranging from a depth of 150m to 250m to test coincident electromagnetic (EM) and induced polarisation (IP) anomalies announced to the ASX on 4 May 2007. Each drill hole is to be cased with PVC to facilitate downhole EM surveys at a later date. The programme is expected to take two weeks with assay results expected four weeks after completion of drilling. Drilling will take place within tenement E77/514 which is interpreted to contain over an 8 km strike length of the same ultramafic units that hosts the Flying Fox nickel sulphide mine, New Morning and Daybreak Nickel deposits to the south (refer attached Location Maps). Prior to the work completed by Hannans, no modern nickel exploration methods have been applied to this portion of project. The Forrestania project is a joint venture between Hannans Reward Ltd (80%) and Cullen Resources Ltd (20%).
