Directorate change

The Rank Group Plc ("Rank") announces the appointment of Karen Whitworth to the board of Rank with immediate effect as a non-executive director.  She will also serve on its audit, safer gambling and remuneration committees, and will be appointed as audit committee chair with effect from 21 November 2019.

A qualified chartered accountant (Coopers & Lybrand, now PwC), Karen has 17 years of board level experience at both private and publicly listed entities, with responsibilities spanning commercial, operations, and governance.

Karen was recently a member of the commercial board and Director of Non-Food Grocery and New Business at J Sainsbury plc. Prior to those roles and during her ten-year tenure at the company, Karen was Director of Supply Chain Operations, and Director of Internal Audit and Risk. Until 2018, Karen was a member of the audit committee and a supervisory board member at GS1 UK Limited. 

Before joining J Sainsbury plc, Karen spent time at Intercontinental Hotel Group Plc, where she held numerous senior positions between 2000 and 2005, and BGS Holdings Limited, an online entertainment business.

Karen is currently a non-executive director of Tritax Big Box REIT plc.
