Life insurers' first-year premium grows 7.6% during April-Feb

FIRST-YEAR PREMIUM OF life insurance companies between April 2018 and February 2019 grew 7.6% to ₹1.77 lakh crore against ₹1.64 lakh crore during the corresponding period in the previous financial year.

IDBI Bank now a private sector lender

IDBI BANK HAS been categorised as a private sector lender following acquisition of majority stake by Life Insurance Corporation, RBI said.

In January, LIC completed the process of picking up a controlling 51% stake in the nearly crippled IDBI Bank.

"IDBI Bank has been categorised as a 'private sectorbank' for regulatory purposes by Reserve Bank of India with effect from January 21, 2019 consequent upon LIC acquiring 51% of the total paid-up equity share capital of the bank," RBI said in a statement. IDBI Bankhas been under the

BoI to raise ₹400-500 cr from non-core asset sale

STATE-RUN BANK of India on Thursday said it is looking to raise at least ₹400-500 crore from sale of a non-core asset by end-March, a top bank official said.

It could be noted that the bank has been looking to sell its stake in a few non-core assets including Star Union Dai-Ichi Life Insurance, STCI Finance and Sidbi. to raise around $\bar{\tau}$ 400-500

पुणे, दि. १४ - लोकसभा निवडणुकीसाठी जिल्ह्यात दोन टप्प्यांत मतदान होणार आहे. या निवडणुकीसाठी प्रशासनाकडून मतदार यादी प्रसिद्ध करण्यात आली आहे. या यादीनुसार जिल्ह्यात चार लोकसभा मतदारसंघात एकूण ८४,४०,६०७ मतदार आहेत; तर एकूण ७,६६६ मतदान केंद्रांची संख्या असणार आहे. यासाठी ५० हजार ४५७ कर्मचाऱ्यांची आवश्यकता असून ६३ भरारी पथके स्थापन करण्यात आली आहेत.

पूर्ण, दि. १४ - लोकसभा निवडणकीचे वातावरण तापू लागले असतानाच; दुसऱ्या बाजूला भारतीय जनता पक्षाच्या उमेदवारीची माळ नेमकी कोणाच्या गळ्यात पडणार याबाबत सस्पेन्स अद्यापही कायम आहे. पुण्यासाठी पालकमंत्री गिरीश बापट आणि विद्यमान खासदार शिरोळे यांच्या नावाची चर्चा आहे. मात्र, त्याचवेळी शिरोळे यांच्याकडून उमेदवारीबाबत कोणतेही जाहीर भाष्य केले जात नसल्याने तसेच बापट यांनीही आपण उमेदवार नसल्याचे जाहीरपणे सांगण्यात येत नसल्याने भाजपच्या उमेदवारीबाबत सस्पेन्स कायम आहे.

भाजपचे राज्यातील ११ विद्यमान खासदार डेंजरझोनमध्ये असल्याचे वारंवार सांगितले जात आहे. त्यात पुण्यातील विद्यमान खासदार शिरोळे यांच्याही नावाचा समावेश असल्याची चर्चा आहे. त्यातच पालकमंत्री गिरीश बापट यांनीही उमेदवारीसाठी जोर लावला असून पक्षातील वरिष्ठ नेत्यांकडून खासगीत बापट यांचे नाव घेतले जात आहे. लोकसभा आचारसंहितेपूर्वी निवडणकीच्या बापट यांनी थेट नागपुर गाठत केंद्रीयमंत्री नितीन गडकरी आणि मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांची ्भेट घेत; लोकसभा निवडणुकीच्या तोंडावर आपला कार्यअहवाल प्रकाशीत केला आहे. मात्र, या कार्य

अहवालामागे थेट उमेदवारीची मागणी केली असल्याची चर्चा आहे. त्यानंतर बापट यांनीही आपण उमेदवार नाही असे कधीच सांगितले नाही तसेच पक्ष देईल ती जबाबदारी घेण्यास आपण तयार असल्याचे सांगितले. गेल्या तीन-चार दिवसांत भाजपमध्ये

पुण्याच्या उमेदवारीबाबत हालचाली सुरू झाल्याने बापट पुन्हा सक्रिय झाले असून त्यांनी आपल्या कार्य अहवालाच्या प्रकाशनासाठी नुकताच कार्यकर्ता मेळावा घेतला आहे. त्यात काही प्रमुख पदाधिकाऱ्यांनाच निमंत्रण देण्यात आले होते.

त्यानंतर आता बापट यांनी आपली ही संपर्क मोहीम अधिक तीव्र केली असून प्रसारमाध्यमांचे प्रतिनिधी, प्रतिष्ठीत नागरिक यांचे स्नेहमेळावे घेतले जात आहेत. त्यात कार्य अहवालाची माहिती

विद्यमान खासदार शिरोळेही सक्रिय

दुसऱ्या बाजूला विद्यमान खासदार शिरोळेही सक्रिय झाले आहेत. त्यांच्याकडून आमदार तसेच, नगरसेवकांच्या भेटीगाठी घेतल्या जात आहेत. त्यासाठी शिरोळे यांनीही वैयक्तिक भेटीगाठीवर भर दिला असल्याचे त्यांच्या निकटवर्तीयांकडून सांगितले जात आहे. गेल्या काही दिवसांत शिरोळे यांनी बहूतांश नगरसेवकांच्या कार्यक्रमांना हजेरी लावली असून त्यांच्याकडून पाठिंबा मिळविला जात आहे. त्यामुळे शिरोळे यांनीही आपला दावा सोडलेला नसल्याचे स्पष्ट आहे. त्यामुळे एका बाजूला पुण्याची उमेदवारी कोणाला मिळणार याचे तर्क वितर्क लढविले जात असतानाच या दोन्ही नेत्यांनी पाठिंब्यासाठी कंबर कसली असल्याचे चित्र आहे.

खुद्द पदाधिकारी आणि सदस्यांनी

जिल्हा परिषदेकडे पाठ फिरवली असून,

नागरिकांची वर्दळही कमी झाली

आहे. आचारसंहिता लागू झाल्यानंतर

विकासकामे मंजूर करणे, वर्कऑर्डर देणे

आदी प्रक्रियांवर निर्बंध येतात. त्यामुळे

मागील महिन्याभरापासून विकासकामांना

मंजूरी देणे, वर्कऑर्डर काढण्यासाठी

अधिकारी आणि कर्मचाऱ्यांची लगबग

सुरू होती. तर विकासकामांमध्ये

स्वत:च्या तालुक्यातील कामांची नावे

यादीत समावेश करण्यासाठी पदाधिकारी

आणि सदस्यांची धावपळ सुरू होती.

परंत्, आचारसंहिता लागली आणि

धावपळ कमी झाली आहे.

पाहिजे आणि त्या दृष्टीनेच उमेदवाराला

तयारी करण्यास सांगायला हवे, परंत्

तसे न झाल्याने इच्छ्कांची लढण्याची

पक्षाने या गोष्टींचा विचार

नाराजीच व्यक्त केली आहे

जिल्ह्यातील पुरंदर तालुक्यातील गुंजवणी धरणाचा प्रश्न का मार्गी

लावला नाही. आम्ही तो मार्गी लावला, असे शिवतारे यांनी यावेळी

्आवश्यकता होती. असा सल्लाही त्यांनी आवश्यकता होती. मात्र, त्यांनी मागील

म्हणाले.

उमेदवारी जाहीर होण्यास

मतदार संघ भाजपकडे असल्याने यावर पक्ष प्रमुख उद्धव ठाकरे आणि मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस निर्णय घेतील. पक्षाने निवडणूक लढविण्याचा आदेश दिल्यास पुढील निर्णय घेईन, असे शिवतारे म्हणाले.
