PSI awarded important steel contract from Krakatau Steel in Indonesia
Production management solution PSImetals for flat steel production

PSI has been awarded by Krakatau Steel in Indonesia to implement the highly
scalable production management system PSImetals as a core solution for flat
steel production. The new system will replace the existing process control
system used for the production of slabs, coils and plates and thus cover
steelmaking, continuous casting, hot strip milling and cold rolling
milling.

PSImetals offers scheduling, production and quality process functions to
support the entire plant and will be seamlessly integrated into the SAP
system and existing automation systems. Krakatau Steel aims to use the
solution to increase customer satisfaction by reducing overall lead time,
adhering to deadlines, ensuring on-time delivery and increasing order
transparency. The steelmaker also aims to improve planning, material flow
and solution quality while setting up accurate process costing to measure
cost factors. Implementation is scheduled for the end of 2013.

Krakatau Steel represents a new important customer for PSI - the steelmaker
operates six production plants and is the largest integrated manufacturer
of steel in Indonesia. The partnership between PSI and Krakatau IT forms
the basis for further joint projects in Indonesia's fast-growing steel
market, which offers PSI high market potential.
