PSI Obtains Major Order from the Russian Energy Sector
Control system for the northwest region of the Federal Grid Company

The Russian joint venture OOO PSI Energo, which specializes in energy
control technology, has been contracted by the JSC Federal Grid Company of
Unified Energy System (JSC FGC UES/Russian: OAO FSK EES) to deliver the new
control system for the high voltage network in the northwest region. The
northwest region is one of eight network regions controlled by FSK EES and
includes the north of Russia from St. Petersburg across the Finnish border
to the Urals. The total value of the order is 17 million euros; it will
serve as a pilot project for the Russian market.

FSK EES operates the country-wide Russian electrical transportation grid
with 120,000 km of transmission lines. The company’s grid facilities are
located in 73 regions of the Russian Federation, covering an area of 13.6
square kilometres and about 140 million inhabitants.

PSI Energo is a joint venture between PSI AG and ru-Net Limited, which has
specialized in control technologies for transportation and the distribution
of electrical energy. PSI Energo employs about 40 employees and is being
expanded to be able to acquire and process additional major contracts. PSI
AG is taking on a sub-contract for software customisation and licenses from
the FSK EES contract. For PSI, this second order from the Russian
electricity industry represents an important step for advancing into the
Russian market for energy control technology.

own software, for the management of energy networks (electricity, gas, oil,
heat, water), cross-company production management (steel, mechanical
engineering, automotive, logistics) and infrastructure management for
telecommunications, transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and
