PSI Awarded Contract from Leading Czech Network Provider T-Mobile

Corporate news transmitted by DGAP – a company of EquityStory AG. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. —————————————————————————— PSI Awarded Contract from Leading Czech Network Provider T-Mobile PSImeir improves theft protection by recognizing and blocking mobile phones The Berlin PSI AG has been charged jointly with Siemens Czech Republic by the leading Czech mobile phone provider T-Mobile Czech Republic a.s. with supplying the software solution PSImeir. PSImeir (Master Equipment Identity Register) hinders access for stolen or unregistered mobile phones to the mobile phone network and includes a direct connection to the police. This duty – to hinder access for stolen or unregistered mobile phones to the network – is imposed on T-Mobile and other mobile phone operators in the Czech Republic by the Electronic Communications Act. In the future, this service will provide Czech mobile phone customers with an improved theft protection for their mobile phones worldwide. Using the individual fifteen-digit device number, the IMEI number, all access attempts to the mobile phone network will be registered. This identification number will be stored in a central blocking file, the Master Equipment Identity Register (MEIR). Mobile phones can then be blocked simply by means of the device number. Due to the fact that the theft of mobile phones is increasing worldwide, Germany’s leading politicians and the Gewerkschaft der Polizei (GdP – Police Officers Union) are requesting that mobile phone providers register the identification numbers of mobile phones in a blocking file. The PSI solution makes it possible to easily set up an Equipment Identity Register (EIR), which is being prescribed by an increasing number of countries. This technology could be used much more for the protection from theft if all the network providers would introduce EIR and internationally compare these using the Central European Identity Register (CEIR) in Dublin. PSI AG develops and integrates individual solutions, on the basis of its own software, for the management of large networks (electricity, gas, oil, telecommunications, transport), cross-company production management (steel, machinery, plant construction, automotive, logistics) and information management for government and service providers. PSI was founded in 1969 and currently employs more than 1,000 persons in the group. www.psi.de PSI AG Karsten Pierschke Communications and Investor Relations Dircksenstrasse 42-44 10178 Berlin Germany Tel. +49 30 2801-2727 Fax +49 30 2801-1000 E-Mail: [email protected] (c)DGAP 27.09.2006 ————————————————————————— Language: English Issuer: PSI Aktiengesellschaft Dircksenstraße 42-44 10178 Berlin Deutschland Phone: +49 (0)30 2801-0 Fax: +49 (0)30 2801-1000 E-mail: [email protected] WWW: www.psi.de ISIN: DE0006968225 WKN: 696822 Indices: Listed: Geregelter Markt in Frankfurt (Prime Standard); Freiverkehr in Berlin-Bremen, Stuttgart, München, Hamburg, Düsseldorf End of News DGAP News-Service —————————————————————————
