August 2000 – Der PSI-Konzern hat im ersten Halbjahr 2000 den Umsatz gegenüber dem Vorjahreszeitraum um 22% auf 130,3 Millionen DM (1999: 107,3 Millionen DM) gesteigert. Das operative Ergebnis konnte um 7,1 Millionen DM auf 2,3 Millionen DM (1999: -4,8 Millionen DM) verbessert werden. Der Rekordauftragseingang von über 200 Millionen DM zum Beginn des zweiten Halbjahrs (1999: 220 Millionen DM im Gesamtjahr) wird sich ebenso wie die Ende Mai getätigte Akquisition des Bereiches Gasmanagementsysteme vom debis Systemhaus erst in den folgenden Quartalen positiv auf Umsatz und Ergebnis auswirken. Im Produktgeschäft wurde trotz des in diesem Segment schwachen Marktumfelds die geplante Ergebnisverbesserung voll umgesetzt. Im Systemgeschäft setzte sich die positive Entwicklung aufgrund der Liberalisierung der Energiemärkte weiter fort. Zusätzliche Impulse ergaben sich bei Logistik und eBusiness. Die PSI-BT AG hat im Rahmen der Ende Mai geschlossenen Kooperation mit Alstom mit der Internationalisierung ihres Geschäftes begonnen. Die eBusiness-Tochter UBIS hat sich im ersten Halbjahr zu einem sehr erfolgreichen Anbieter von Internet-Marktplätzen und Portalen entwickelt. Mit der aktuell laufenden Umwandlung in eine Aktiengesellschaft schafft UBIS derzeit die Voraussetzungen für die weitere aggressive Expansion. Die Mitarbeiterzahl im Konzern stieg im ersten Halbjahr um 259 auf 1275. Dies ist von entscheidender Bedeutung, da das Geschäft der PSI in hohem Maße von qualifizierten und motivierten Mitarbeitern abhängt, die außerdem die Voraussetzung für das weitere Wachstum des Unternehmens sind. Mit dem Ende Juni erfolgten Launch der neuen Version der internetfähigen eRP-Lösung PSIPENTA befindet sich PSI in einer guten Ausgangsposition für die im zweiten Halbjahr für diesem Markt erwartete Belebung. PSI was able to improve its operational results by 7.1 million DM to 2.3 million DM (1999: -4.8 Millionen DM). A record amount of incoming business, at over 200 million DM at the beginning of the second six-month period (1999: 220 million DM over the whole year) will start to have a positive effect on turnover and profits only in the quarters to come. This is also true for the acquisition of the gas management systems section from debis Systemhaus, which was completed at the end of May. In spite of the weak market environment for the Products sector, the planned improvement in performance for Products was fully realised. Positive developments continued in the Systems sector, following the liberalisation of the energy markets. Logistics and e-business also showed signs of improvement. PSI-BT AG has begun the internationalization of its business within the framework of the cooperation agreement signed with Alstom at the end of May. The eBusiness subsidiary UBIS has become a highly successful provider of Internet marketplaces and portals in the first six months. With the change into a public limited company currently in progress, UBIS is creating the prerequisites for further aggressive expansion. The number of employees in the Group rose from 259 to 1275 during the first six months. This plays a decisive role for PSI, whose business operations depend to a great extent on its skilled and motivated employees. These employees are also the prerequisite for the further growth of the company. With the launch of the new version of the Internet-capable PSIPENTA eRP solution at the end of June, PSI is in a good starting position for the upturn expected in this market area in the second six months of the year.
