ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG english

Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Notice pursuant to § 15 of the WPHG (German Securities Trading Act) ProSiebenSat.1 Group revises business outlook for 2001 Terror attacks in the U.S. drive down advertising market Munich, September 28, 2001. The ProSiebenSat.1 Group has revised its projec- tions for the financial year 2001 following the devastating terrorist attacks in New York and Washington. The television corporation now anticipates a revenue decline of four percent from last year’s record figure. Net income is expected to be down by roughly ten percent from last year, and EBIT and EBITDA by about 20 percent. Pre-tax income will fall by about 30 percent. Prior to the attacks, the ProSiebenSat.1 Group was confident that despite a difficult market environment, it would be able to keep group pre-tax income at last year’s level through rigorous cost management. The company originally expected the TV adver- tising market to decline by a net total of two to three percent for all of 2001. The events in the U.S. on September 11, 2001, further intensified the decline of the German television advertising market. Since the attacks, particularly many large, long-standing U.S. corporations have canceled or significantly reduced their bookings, as have advertising clients in the banking, insurance, tourism and air travel segments. In view of the economic chill in Germany, the ProSiebenSat.1 Group does not expect TV advertising to recover in 2001. As a result, the ProSiebenSat.1 Group now assumes that the German market for tele- vision advertising will decline by an overall five to six percent in 2001.
