ASX ANNOUNCEMENT/MEDIA RELEASE

STRATEGIC REVIEW OF OPERATIONS

Tantalum Australia NL ("TAA") today announced it was undertaking a strategic review of its operations. The objective of the review is to set a future path for the company that is likely to generate increased shareholder value. The tantalum operations are being reviewed both in Australia and Africa. This review is set to take no longer than 3 months with regular reporting of progress to occur during this period. The review may well be completed within the next three months.

In addition to the above Mr Michael Fotios will step down as the Managing Director and take on a consulting role to TAA. He will focus on development of the existing portfolio of projects and to develop recently identified project opportunities in Africa.

Mr Imants Kins B.Ec MA has been appointed the new Managing Director. He will drive the strategic review process, the execution of the outcome from the review and be responsible for the overall management of the company. He is an economist who has specialized in the resources sector and brings strong strategic, marketing and project management skills to TAA. He has an excellent network in the resources and general industry sector, both in Australia and overseas. He has particularly extensive knowledge of the global tantalum and niobium industry.

The Company Secretary, Mr Peter Farrah will also step down to concentrate on his position as Managing Director of the recently floated Accent Resources NL. The Chairman of TAA Mr Timothy King will assume the duties of Company Secretary.

TAA wishes thank Mr Michael Fotios and Mr Peter Farrah for their commitment and endeavours on behalf of TAA during their long tenures.

TAA is expecting the new approach to bring new opportunities to the company in the future.
