ITEM 5.02(b) DEPARTURE OF CERTAIN OFFICERS; APPOINTMENT OF CERTAIN OFFICERS

On October 10, 2007, The Procter & Gamble Company [NYSE:PG] announced that Richard L. Antoine, global human resources officer, will retire effective March 31, 2008. The Company also announced that Moheet Nagrath, currently vice president-corporate human resources, has been elected global human resources officer effective January 1, 2008. The Company is filing this 8-K pursuant to Item 5.02(b), "Departure of Certain Officers; Appointment of Certain Officers."
