Press release 20 January 2015

Saffier De Residentiegroep makes 20% plus data centre savings thanks to Proact's hyperconverged solution

Saffier De Residentiegroep, a health care service provider, has chosen Proact to supply a hyperconverged data centre solution.

Saffier De Residentiegroep was making plans to replace its IT infrastructure, the cornerstone of its IT environment. Disaster recovery was not in place and its environment had become unable to support the organisation in terms of performance. The amounts of obsolete hardware were also a reason to look for another solution.

Bert Hartsuiker, Saffier De Residentiegroep's IT Manager says: "We have opted for Proact and SimpliVity Omnicube. With this solution, Proact has offered us an environment that meets the demands of our environment. The new IT infrastructure will bring Saffier De Residentiegroep significant savings in terms of hardware and operating costs and the alternative environment will reduce the risks. This will allow us to enhance the services we provide to our customers and to streamline management."

The complete solution consists of three SimpliVity Omnicubes, including a disaster recovery environment. The hyperconverged systems will give the organisation more control over its IT environment. They will simplify its management thanks to the VMware centric approach and lower the risk thanks to the back-up component that is integrated into the solution.

The savings will be made for more than 20% of hardware and more than 40% of operating costs, such as licenses for VMware, storage, power and cooling.

Lucas den Os, Managing Director of Proact Netherlands says: "The SimpliVity Omnicube solution is a fine example of innovation. Proact has a proven track record with many health care organisations, including various hospitals and mental health care institutions. We are looking forward to working with Saffier De Residentiegroep to achieve the objectives in terms of cost savings and risk reduction."
