Proact implements private cloud solution for Swegon

Proact has implemented a cloud based storage solution for Swegon's primary data storage. The private cloud solution gives Swegon a safe and scalable storage infrastructure addressing both current and future storage needs. Proact is also delivering ongoing support to Proact.

Swegon manufactures and markets products and solutions for ventilation and indoor climate control. The operations include 16 sales offices in Sweden, production and development facilities in Kvänum, Arvika and Tomelilla and a large number of international sales offices. Expansion plans and increasing amounts of data made Swegon identify the need for a smarter and more effective storage solutions.

– We needed a more flexible and effective storage solution in order to take the IT environment to the level we are striving for. The private cloud solution which Proact has implemented gives us just this. We have the possibility to scale both up and down depending on the need of the operations. We will also be able to grow with this model in the future, says Per Joelsson, CIO, Swegon.

To address Swegon's needs of scalable and effective storage, Proact presented a hybrid cloud model which enable Proact to supply storage as a service within a private cloud. The hardware is, as required by Swegon, placed in Swegon's facilities and is directly connected to a private cloud operated by Proact.

– The private cloud solution we have presented mean that Swegon will only pay for the storage capacity they actually utilize. The solution also means that Swegon has access to critical information from wherever, whenever and from all devices. The hybrid model will offer exactly the storage capacity the operation demand on a day to day basis, says Martin Ödman, CEO, Proact.
