Precise Biometrics signs license agreement with Silead

Precise Biometrics has entered into an agreement with Chinese sensor manufacturer Silead for licensing of Precise BioMatch™ Mobile.

The license agreement enables Silead to include Precise Biometrics´ fingerprint software, Precise BioMatch Mobile, into their fingerprint sensor portfolio.

"The agreement with Silead further strengthens our position as a leading supplier of fingerprint algorithms that provide convenient and secure identity authentication for mobile and embedded devices. This is yet another important step to commercialize our fingerprint technology", says Håkan Persson, CEO of Precise Biometrics.

The license agreement will generate royalty revenue based on sales of fingerprint sensors from Silead that includes Precise BioMatch Mobile. Royalty revenues are volume dependant and cannot be forecasted at this point. The agreement also includes a limited initial fixed fee for the right to integrate and use Precise BioMatch Mobile and for support & maintenance, which will be recognized starting from the second quarter 2015.

In a recent market analysis of fingerprint biometrics for mobile devices, Frost & Sullivan praised Precise BioMatch Mobile for providing superior fingerprint authentication for smartphones and tablets. As a result, Precise Biometrics was awarded the 2015 Global Frost & Sullivan Award for Customer Value Leadership in fingerprint biometrics for mobile devices. In 2014, Precise BioMatch Mobile was integrated in the world's first Android smartphone with a touch fingerprint sensor.

Precise BioMatch Mobile provides easy integration of fingerprint matching functionality for smartphones and tablets, and is optimized for small touch sensors in mobile environments through a unique patented hybrid algorithm. The software offers fast, accurate, and secure verification of a user's identity, creating a convenient and secure user experience for access to mobile devices and services.
