PRECISE BIOMETRICS RECOGNIZED AS KEY PLAYER IN THE BIOMETRICS INDUSTRY

Precise Biometrics has been recognized with the 2008 Global Frost & Sullivan Award for Emerging Company of the Year for its high‐quality authentication method, Precise Match‐on‐Card™. The award is based on recent analysis of the non‐AFIS (Automated Fingerprint Identification System) fingerprint market.

Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Neelima Sagar means that Precise Biometrics is a worthy recipient of the Frost & Sullivan award due to its strong offering to the market.

— Through technical expertise and products that are secure, reliable, and innovative, Precise Biometrics is established as a key player in the biometrics market. Strategic alliances and partnerships have contributed to the company's success.

Precise Match‐on‐Card™ is the process of storing and matching fingerprint information on a smart card to establish the presence of an individual. As the fingerprint information does not leave the card, there is no need for a database and the cardholderʹs integrity is preserved. This differs from AFIS (Automated Fingerprint Identification System), which is the traditional method for fingerprint solutions based on large databases, used primarily law enforcement systems.

Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has carried out new research, resulting in innovation(s) that bring significant contributions to its industry. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in‐depth interviews, analysis, and extensive secondary research in order to identify best practices in the industry.

Thomas Marschall, President and CEO at Precise Biometrics comments on the award, "We are honored to receive this award from a well renowned and independent analyst firm such as Frost & Sullivan. It is yet an acknowledgement that the Match‐on‐Card technology is a biometric solution extremely well suited for any smart card application. And Precise Biometrics is the company equipped to deliver it. In this respect, I would also like to send a thank you to our partners that are key to our success. "

Frost & Sullivan has over 45 years of experience in market research and analysis, and more than 30 offices on six continents. Please visit Frost & Sullivan's website to read their press release.
