Item 8.01 Other Events

On July 11, 2012, PPL Corporation ("PPL") gave notice to The Bank of New York Mellon (as successor Trustee to JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. (formerly known as The Chase Manhattan Bank)), as Trustee, of PPL Capital Funding, Inc.'s election to redeem in full, on August 14, 2012 (the "Redemption Date"), all of its issued and outstanding 6.85% Senior Notes due 2047 ("Senior Notes") at the redemption price of 100% of the principal amount thereof, plus accrued and unpaid interest to but not including the Redemption Date . The Senior Notes are fully and unconditionally guaranteed as to payment of principal and interest by PPL.
