Chairmans Address for the Annual General Meeting
Shareholders, Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the Annual General Meeting of the Company.
The last 18 months or so, have been a very active time for Platina, with significant advances and additions being made to the Company's asset portfolio. Platina Resources now holds title to a valuable set of platinum group metals (pgm) assets throughout the world, with an excellent mix of advanced stage pgm projects within our Company combined with our Australian and overseas exploration portfolio; in many ways we are unique amongst our peers within the pgm exploration industry, with two of our projects currently the focus of Scoping Study evaluations and our cutting‐ edge portfolio of exploration ground which continues to show promising signs of pgm mineralisation.
The leading potential pgm development projects within the Company are Skaergaard in Greenland and Munni Munni in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Our most promising exploration project at this point in time is the Polar Bear project, near Norseman in Western Australia.
Both Skaergaard and Munni Munni are currently under the careful evaluation of SRK Consulting (both in the United Kingdom and in Australia) who are assisting Platina in the preparation of two Scoping Studies which are due for completion, in the case of Skaergaard before the end of this year and March 2008 in the case of Munni Munni.
The previous owners of the Skaergaard pgm and gold occurrence did carry out independent ore resource estimations and preliminary economic studies in 2004 which showed favourable results.
The aim of Platina's current Scoping Study is for SRK to review the earlier resource estimations as well as the mining, processing, environmental and cash flow studies that were also carried out. In addition, more recent metals prices will be inputted into the cash flow model. It is worth noting that whilst the Skaergaard deposit contains high levels of palladium, the prices of both platinum and gold (which also occur in significant concentrations) have risen considerably since the previous estimations. Accordingly, the results of the new Scoping Study are eagerly awaited. If the results of the Scoping Study are positive, Platina will consider several options including the Company proceeding directly to a Feasibility Study in late 2008 or 2009.

The Company's Munni Munni project near Karratha in Western Australia is being similarly evaluated (to Skaergaard), this time by SRK consultants here in Australia. The Munni Munni pgm deposit (which was discovered by my colleague and fellow Director of Platina, Dr. John Ferguson) has been known for many years. South African pgm producer Lonmin Plc was the last company to commercially evaluate it in 2002. Back then, the relatively small size of the resource combined with the pgm and gold prices were too low for Lonmin to commence mining at Munni Munni. However, we are very encouraged by the results of seismic surveys conducted earlier this year and their potential impact on increasing the resource. Additionally, our new resource estimation for Munni Munni, which is a major component of our current Scoping Study, will for the first time include the rhodium, nickel and copper credits which are consistently found in the resource. Inclusion of these latter metals along with the current pgm and gold prices are expected to provide the Munni Munni project with compelling and more robust project economics. Similar to Skaergaard, we consider the commencement of further Feasibility Studies at Munni Munni in late 2008 quite probable.
Our major grass roots exploration project this year has been at Polar Bear, near Norseman in Western Australia. Almost 3000 metres of diamond drilling have been completed over the salt lakes where exceptional surface pgm values were encountered. Polar Bear represents a new style of pgm occurrence associated with komatiitic rock types. No assays have been received from Polar Bear as yet, however, we do look forward to assays from the first three diamond drillholes before Christmas of this year. Our contract analytical laboratory here in Australia has advised the Company of huge demands being placed on their analytical digests, and turnaround from submission of sample to analysis is now two and a half months. Regrettably, the long wait for our pgm analyses can be directly blamed on the resources boom which we are currently witnessing. Having personal experience to over 20 years of pgm exploration and the difficulties in finding laboratories capable of consistent and accurate pgm analyses, I would urge shareholders to exercise patience as we await analytical results from our recent diamond drilling at Polar Bear.
At the end of the formal business section of today's meeting, John Ferguson and I will elaborate further on the technical status of the Company's pgm projects, however, I can confirm that we are very pleased with the progress that we have made on all projects comprising our portfolio.
In addition, I am pleased to advise that the Company's financial position is sound, with some $4.5 million of funds available and a market capitalisation of approximately $56 million based on our shares on issue of 38 million and a recent share price of $1.48.
The Company has also been successful in acquiring top level technical staff to carry out the next important steps at Skaergaard and Munni Munni.
Against the backdrop of Platina's portfolio and financial position I am also pleased to confirm the continued strong demand in general for the pgm's; in the recently launched Platinum 2007 Interim Review by Johnson Matthey, demand for platinum will continue to be high (almost 7 million ounces), based on the predicted deficit in supply and the requirements in the autocatalyst sector, especially for diesel vehicles. Similarly, demand for palladium is expected to be almost 6.7 million ounces although there will be some surplus which may be consumed by further demand in the investment, jewellery, automobile and electronics industries.
The Company is confident of the future value and importance of the platinum group metals to the world. We are also confident in the progress of our major projects this year towards potential mining operations.
Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for your attention and I will now return to the items of business related to this Annual General Meeting.
On behalf of the Board DP Cornish 28 November 2007
