Treviolo (Bergamo), 12 July 2021 – In line with its business plan, this month Planetel S.p.A., ("the Company" or "Planetel"), the parent company of the group that bears its name, operating nationwide in the telecommunications sector and listed on the AIM Italia multilateral trading system organised and run by Borsa Italiana S.p.A., has completed the infrastructure works on the large Planetel ultra-broadband proprietary network, comprising over 1500 Km of optic fibre and able to provide FTTH connections for over 10,000 homes and businesses in the municipalities of Dalmine and Treviglio in the month of July. The Planetel infrastructure is the first widespread network to provide full FTTH connection cover in these geographical areas.

Construction works are also ongoing on the network and the proprietary backbone to increase optic fibre coverage in the provinces of Monza Brianza and Lecco, while in various Municipalities already receiving the Planetel FTTCAB service, work is progressing to install FTTH systems covering all homes and areas, generating a very positive response in terms of demand for connection services. With the migration of its services to FTTH, Planetel becomes completely independent of the TIM system, delivering connection services to its customers solely with the use of its own proprietary infrastructure.

Thanks to the overall capacity of its FTTH network, its latest-generation technologies and its investments and trials during the last year, Planetel is one of Italy's first providers to supply its customers with connectivity at speeds of download 2.5Gb/s - upload 1.0 Gb/s. The company is also nearing completion of the first beta tests on the 10 Gb/s access network, to be made available on the market by the end of the year.
