THE "GANDINO" PILOT PROJECT IS STARTED: TESMEC AND PLANETEL PARTNER OF THE MUNICIPAL ADMINISTRATIONS FOR THE TERRITORY DIGITALIZATION

• Tesmec and Planetel present the "Gandino" pilot project, with the installation and activation of an Ultra-Broadband Fiber Optic network.

• The service will be provided directly by Planetel, guaranteeing Internet connectivity, voice, data and an infrastructure suitable for advanced digitalization;

• The installation works will take place between the Planetel fiber optic network node in Leffe (Bergamo) and the industrial area including the historic company Torri Lana Srl. Thanks to Tesmec innovative technologies the works environmental impact will be minimized, maximizing quality, speed and economy;

• The innovativeness of the preventive intervention involved the digital mapping of the existing underground utilities through the advanced Tesmec Georadar system which made possible to plan the subsequent excavation works. This activity equips Municipalities with cutting-edge tools also in terms of plans, maps and digital databases.

Grassobbio (Bergamo), November 9, 2021 - Tesmec SpA (EURONEXT STAR MILAN: TES) ("Tesmec"), a company at the head of a leading group in the market of technologies dedicated to infrastructures (overhead, underground and railway networks) for the transport of electricity, data and materials (oil and derivatives, gas and water), as well as technologies for the cultivation of quarries and surface mines, and Planetel SpA (Euronext Growth Milan "EGM": PLT), ("Planetel") , leader of the homonymous group that operates in the telecommunications sector at national level, presented today in Gandino, in the province of Bergamo, the pilot project on connectivity and advanced digitalization towards a smart city model, with the start of the installation works of an ultra-broadband fiber optic network with performance up to 10 Gbps between the fiber optic network node Planetel presents in Leffe and the industrial area including the historic company Torri Lana Srl.

The intervention area, located in the Municipalities of Leffe, Gandino and Peia, was identified with the patronage of Confindustria Bergamo with the aim of providing ultra-broadband connectivity to some historic Bergamo companies not yet reached by optical fiber and that would have been isolated without a targeted intervention.

The works will be carried out by Tesmec and Planetel with the use of innovative technologies, capable of minimizing the environmental impact and maximizing the quality, speed and cost-effectiveness of the interventions, which will be at no cost for the three Municipalities, as they are fully financed by the two companies for their respective areas of expertise.

Thanks to Tesmec excavation machinery and their compact dimensions, construction site activities will be extremely rapid and will not involve the total closure of the road during the works, but only a part of the carriageway. The excavation will be carried out in the minimum dimensions indispensable for laying the network (a few centimetres wide), allowing a quick and non-invasive restoration of traffic circulation and

avoiding a complete re-asphalting of the road, with minimal environmental impact, no disturbance to residents, sustainability and efficiency.

The innovation of the intervention also involved the preventive mapping of the existing subservices through the acquisition of Georadar Tesmec data, the topographic survey, the data processing and 3D Output, in order to obtain a clear vision of the existing infrastructures, for find the best place to excavate avoiding damages, breakdowns and service interruptions. This activity also equips the three Municipalities with cutting-edge tools also in terms of plans, maps and digital databases for future intervention planning, simplifying and modernizing internal management processes.

Through the project, the objective of Tesmec and Planetel is to propose a collaboration and a working methodology that could be easily replicated on the territory, broadening the horizon towards all the Bergamo municipalities and administrations that want to equip themselves with cutting-edge tools, able to improve the quality of infrastructures and at the same time increase the competitiveness of local companies.

The President and CEO of Tesmec, Ambrogio Caccia Dominioni commented: "We are proud to be able to put the innovativeness of Tesmec technological solutions at the service of the territory, which allow us to operate with a view of maximum efficiency and environmental sustainability. Having identified a high-level partner as Planetel pursues the goal of offering a complete value chain and will help speed up the adoption by individual administrations and companies of digital tools that are now indispensable in the current context".

"We are very pleased to start this important collaboration with Tesmec - said Bruno Pianetti, President and CEO of Planetel S.p.A. This partnership is in continuity with our attention to the needs of the Territory and to the synergies with companies and public bodies, bringing value and infrastructures aimed at the creation of digital access networks in FTTH optical fiber. We are pleased, with this partnership, to be able to further enhance and optimize our infrastructural investments ".

"We thank Tesmec and Planetel for this very important and innovative project that has brought an excellent infrastructure to the Val Gandino area. This new infrastructure will make it possible to connect with fiber optic three production companies in the area, previously without a high-speed connection. This intervention is therefore essential for the life of this valley, for the economy of this area and for the work of three companies that guarantee jobs for many citizens. Furthermore, this project is in line with the efforts of the Lombardy Region made and planned in the field of innovation "- continued Roberto Anelli, Head of the Lega Group at Lombardy Regional Council, and Giovanni Francesco Malanchini, Councilor Secretary of the Presidency Office of the Lombardy Regional Council.

Present at today's presentation, held at Torri Lana Srl, were Giacomo Biraghi, Head of Innovation of Confindustria Bergamo, Giovanni Francesco Malanchini, Councilor Secretary of the Presidency of the Lombardy Regional Council, Elio Castelli, Mayor of Gandino, Silvia Bosio, Mayor of Peia, Santo Pezzoli, Deputy Mayor of Leffe, as well as Caterina Caccia Dominioni, Director and Head of General Affairs Tesmec SpA, Ambrogio Caccia Dominioni, President and CEO of Tesmec SpA, and Bruno Pianetti, President and CEO of Planetel SpA.
