PIRELLI: PERFEZIONATO IL CLOSING PER L'ACQUISTO DEL 49% DEL NUOVO IMPIANTO PRODUTTIVO IN CINA IN JV CON IL GRUPPO HIXIH

Yanzhou (Cina), 9 ottobre 2018 – In esecuzione degli accordi già comunicati l'1 agosto, Pirelli rende noto di aver sottoscritto il closing per l'acquisto di una partecipazione del 49% della Joint Venture che detiene, attraverso la società Jining Shenzhou Tyre Co., un nuovo stabilimento di produzione di pneumatici Consumer in Cina.

Come preannunciato, l'investimento di Pirelli per la partecipazione del 49% nella Joint Venture è pari a circa 65 milioni di euro. Pirelli avrà inoltre il diritto, da esercitare nel periodo compreso tra l'1 gennaio 2021 e il 31 dicembre 2025, di incrementare tale partecipazione fino al 70%. L'operazione, come già comunicato, non modifica i target previsti nel piano industriale 2017-2020.

Il nuovo stabilimento, che sarà gestito dal management Pirelli, fornirà la necessaria flessibilità produttiva nel segmento High Value, tenuto conto dell'evoluzione del mercato cinese, degli sviluppi attesi nel segmento dell'auto elettrica e della quota crescente di omologazioni ottenute nel segmento del primo equipaggiamento in Cina, Giappone e Corea.

PIRELLI CLOSES ON ACQUISITION OF 49% OF NEW PLANT IN CHINA THROUGH JV WITH THE HIXIH GROUP

Yanzhou (China), 9 October 2018 – In accordance with the agreement announced on August 1, Pirelli states that the closing on the acquisition of a 49% stake in a joint venture with the Hixih Group which owns, through the company Jining Shenzhou Tyre Co., a new consumer tyre production plant in China has been completed.

As previously stated, Pirelli's investment for the acquisition of the 49% stake in the joint venture will be around 65 million euro. Further, in the period from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2025, Pirelli will be entitled to exercise a right to increase its participation up to 70%. The transaction, as already noted, will not impact the targets indicated in Pirelli's 2017-2020 Industrial Plan which remain unchanged.

The new plant, which will be operated by Pirelli's management, will provide the necessary production flexibility in the High Value segment, taking into account the evolution of the Chinese market, the expected developments in electric vehicles and the growing share of homologations obtained in the Original Equipment segment in China, Japan and Korea.
