Phoenix Group Holdings - Board Change

The Board of Phoenix Group Holdings ("Phoenix") is pleased to announce the appointment of Kory Sorenson as a non-executive director of Phoenix with immediate effect. Ms Sorenson is also a non-executive director of SCOR SE, the global reinsurer listed on the Euronext Paris stock exchange and of UNIQA Insurance Group AG, a leading insurance group in Austria and Central and Eastern Europe listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange. She has over twenty years financial services experience, most of which has been focused on insurance and banking. She was Managing Director, Head of Insurance Capital Markets of Barclays Capital from 2005 to 2010 and also held senior positions in the capital markets or financial institutions divisions of Credit Suisse, Lehman Brothers and Morgan Stanley. Ms Sorenson is also a non-executive director of the Institut Pasteur, a non-profit, private foundation focused on biomedical research, public health and teaching.

Commenting on the appointment, Howard Davies, Phoenix Chairman said: "I am very pleased that Kory is joining the Phoenix Board. She brings to the Board significant experience in corporate transactions in the insurance industry, including capital management, mergers and acquisitions and corporate restructurings."

Regulatory approval to Ms Sorenson's appointment has been obtained and, save as disclosed above, there is no further information to be disclosed pursuant to paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules of the Financial Conduct Authority.
