MOD Contract Award

Petards, the AIM quoted developer of advanced security and surveillance systems, announces that it has been awarded a contract by the Ministry of Defence ("MOD") to provide defensive aids equipment for use on aircraft within its fleet.

The contract, worth over £1m, is for the supply of Electronic Countermeasures equipment which will form part of an integrated Defensive Aids Suite to be installed on Royal Navy Merlin Mk 2 helicopters.  The equipment is expected to be delivered in the second half of 2015.

Commenting, Raschid Abdullah, Petards Chairman said: "We are delighted that the MOD has chosen Petards for this electronic countermeasures project which will serve to protect these aircraft and the lives of the Service Personnel that fly in them.  The Company has been supplying and servicing such systems for the MOD for many years and we believe that this is indicative of the value that the MOD places on our expertise in this specialist field."
