EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR APPOINTMENT

Perseus Mining Limited (ASX:PRU) is pleased to announce that Perseus director, Rhett Brans, is taking up an executive role with the Company, to oversee Perseus’s evolution into an emerging producer.

Mr Brans will add substantial technical and management experience during the feasibility process, plant construction and planned mining operations. He will lead the team of highly experienced consultants undertaking the Ayanfuri and Grumesa feasibility studies, which are at varying stage of completion. As part of that process he will oversee the heap leach plant refurbishment program currently underway in Ghana.

Rhett is a qualified civil engineer with more than 30 years experience in the resources industry working as a project manager. Rhett has assisted numerous mining companies transform resources into operating treatment facilities. Rhett’s previous role was General Manager of Engineering and Construction for Straits Resources. Rhett has been a director of Perseus since May 2004.

As part of his engagement in an executive role, Mr Brans will be issued with 600,000 options to subscribe for shares at an exercise price of $1.50 each, with an expiry date of 31 July 2010. Shareholder approval for this issue will be sought at the Company’s annual general meeting.
