Appointment of Independent Non-Executive Director of Pendragon

Further to the announcement made on 26 September 2019, Pendragon has completed its external search for an additional independent non-executive director as the successor to Mr Richard Laxer as chairman of the Company’s Audit Committee.  Mr Brian Small has been appointed as an independent non-executive director of motor retail group, Pendragon, to take office on 10 December 2019.  Mr Small will serve on the Company’s Nomination Committee and Remuneration Committee and will also join the Audit Committee, succeeding Richard Laxer as its Chairman on 02 January 2020.

Mr Small joins following an extensive executive career in the retail sector, where most recently he held the position of Chief Finance Officer at JD Sports Fashion Plc prior to his retirement in October 2018.  Mr Small is also a non-executive director and chairman of the Audit Committee at online retailer, Boohoo.com, and a non-executive director and chairman of the Audit Committee of Mothercare Plc.  He qualified as an accountant with Price Waterhouse in 1981.

Pendragon’s Interim Executive Chairman, Bill Berman said, “I welcome Brian and look forward to working with him on the Board of Pendragon.  He has an extensive track record and considerable experience from his career in business, and I am confident he will make a positive contribution to the Board as we continue to take the business forward.”

There is no further information to disclose in relation to the above appointments in accordance with LR 9.6.13.
