29 DECEMBER 2006
CHRISTMAS RUSH FOR PEET SYNDICATES
A raft of new and existing investors, including some of Australia's largest institutions, is launching Peet Limited into 2007 with capital raising and syndications of $127.5 million in less than a month.
The campaign started with the very successful institutional placement and Share Purchase Plan offer early in December. That was followed by the second payment for investors in Peet Cranbourne Syndicate Limited and Peet's two latest land syndicate opportunities in Victoria and Western Australia, which attracted almost 1300 applications.
Peet Limited Managing Director, Warwick Hemsley, said shares in Peet Botanic Village Syndicate Limited and Peet Mundijong Syndicate Limited will be allotted today (December 29 2006) after comfortably exceeding the minimum subscriptions within just weeks.
"Peet Limited is Australia's largest retail land syndicator and, not surprisingly, our two most recent syndicates have again proved to be very popular, he said. "But there's still time for new investors to take up the opportunity with oversubscriptions able to be accepted in both these land syndicates."
Mr Hemsley said finishing 2006 so strongly provided the company with enormous confidence as it moved into a new year of further land acquisitions and major milestones for a number of its estates across the country, as well as some of the newer divisions of Peet Limited including Peet Retirement and Peet Living (the company's residential division).
"We're looking forward to another year of solid growth for Peet Limited – and another year of good returns to our investors in Peet Limited, our property funds and land syndicates," he said.
Established 111 years ago, Peet Limited is a diversified property group delivering prosperity through property throughout Australia.
It has a strong history of creating profitable property investment syndicates and capital raisings, as well as a wide range of joint ventures and partnerships, in order to develop high quality land estate projects. The company also develops, manages and markets wholly-owned land estates.
Peet Limited currently acts as project manager and marketing agent for some 67 land development projects in Western Australia. Victoria and with a growing presence in Queensland and New South Wales. It manages a residential land bank of around 31,000 lots with an estimated end value of $5.4 billion if sold at today's prices.

Recent diversification has seen the company extend its expertise into residential property development, with projects in medium-density housing (townhouses/villas), low-rise apartments, urban renewal, retirement villages and commercial/office units.
