PANTAFLIX AG closes another deal in China: Movie “Hot Dog” has been sold to one of the largest Chinese distributors
Munich, 22 November 2017 – PANTAFLIX AG has achieved a significant international coup for one of its current major productions “Hot Dog”. The action comedy, which celebrates its world premiere in January 2018, has been sold to China.
The deal is remarkable in two ways: On the one hand, German movies have so far rarely been marketed in China. On the other hand, with S&C Pictures a very strong partner has purchased all the rights for the Asian megamarket which substancially outperformed both Europe and the US with 1.37 billion cinema tickets sold . The prestigious company has already exploited blockbusters such as “Transformers” and “Arrival” in China with great success.
“This sale confirmes our strategy to play a strong role in the Chinese market in all our business divisions. Once again, with S&C, we were were able to gain a strategically important partner for the Chinese market. With this transaction, we once again prove the brilliant performance of our movie division”, says Dan Maag, CEO of PANTAFLIX AG.
In addition to China, the movie has been licensed in other important territories such as Japan, the Middle East, Taiwan or Spain well before its official theatrical release in January 2018.
The action comedy “Hot Dog” is set to have its premiere distributed by Warner Bros. in German movie theaters on January 18, 2018.
