Kronberg im Taunus / Munich, 2nd June 2015 – PANTALEON Entertainment AG (Frankfurt Stock Exchange: ISIN DE000A12UPJ7 / WKN A12UPJ) is planning a feature film on the life of the German Pope Benedict XVI. and has secured exclusive rights to Peter Seewald’s biography due to be published in 2016 by Pattloch (part of the Droemer Knaur publishing group).

Together with RTL-Television’s former Head of TV-Movies and Series, Peter Alexander Weckert, PANTALEON producers Dan Maag, Marco Beckmann and Mathias Schweighöfer intend to bring the extraordinary life of the German Pope to the big screen as an international production.

To develop the script PANTALEON has signed the renowned scriptwriter Johannes Betz (The Spiegel Affair, Hindenburg, The White Massai). Johannes Betz will develop the script on the basis of the biography by the Pope’s confidante, Peter Seewald. The biography by the best-selling Seewald, whose books have appeared in more than 30 languages, is scheduled for publication in 2016 and contains new and previously unknown details of the former Pope’s life.
