Treasury Group invests in offshore distribution

Dan Burke joins Treasury Group as Institutional Director, UK and Europe.

(AUS/UK/ASIA), 29 August, 2011: Treasury Group Limited (ASX:TRG) today announced the deepening of its Distribution capability with the hiring of Dan Burke as Institutional Director, UK & Europe.

This step is consistent with the investment in distribution undertaken in 2010 and comments recently made by new CEO, Andrew McGill that Treasury Group is focused on enhancing its distribution capabilities as part of an overall strategic review.

Dan Burke has been appointed to build on TRG’s network of contacts and to manage and grow existing client and gatekeeper relationships. The role will be based in London, where Mr Burke currently resides.

TRG Global Head of Distribution Rob Sullivan said the UK and European region has increasingly been a growth area for the business, with TRG attracting new investors as well as new boutique managers, such as Aubrey Capital Management. We introduced the UCITs platform in 2007 to meet the demands of investors in the region and Dan will assist growing these assets further.

“As well as building offshore investor networks for our Australian-based fund managers, Dan will focus on marketing our Edinburgh-based global growth asset manager, Aubrey Capital Management. Mr Burke has more than ten years’ funds management experience. He was formerly Managing Principal – Head of Distribution at Nucleus Global Investors, a role he held in Sydney and London. Prior to this, Mr Burke held distribution roles at Mariner Financial Ltd and Zurich Financial Services.
