Death of Chairman

It is with great sadness that the Board of Oxford Instruments plc announces the death of its Chairman, Alan Thomson.  Alan has been Chairman since September 2016 and brought a wealth of experience and wisdom to the role.

Ian Barkshire (Chief Executive) commented: "Alan's commitment and passion in driving improvement have been inspirational and his support, guidance and friendship have been greatly valued. He will be missed by all at Oxford Instruments and all who knew him."

The Board's sincere condolences go to his family.

Stephen Blair, Senior Independent Director, will take over as Interim Chairman with immediate effect.  The Board will be starting a process to appoint Alan's successor.
