OVHcloud launches Managed Kubernetes Service Standard: Now deployed in 3-AZ region for higher resilience

Roubaix – September 16 2025 – OVHcloud, a global cloud player and the European Cloud leader, today announces the launch of Managed Kubernetes Service (MKS) Standard, a managed platform designed for the most critical applications in multicloud environments. This new offer in the Public Cloud universe is an important step in the evolution of OVHcloud MKS solutions: OVHcloud MKS Standard is backed by a 99.99% SLA and today available in the 3-AZ Paris region. It will be deployed this fall in the Milan 3-AZ region. This new secure and highly resilient approach helps businesses strengthen their strategic autonomy by ensuring control over their data.

A powerful, interoperable solution built with resiliency in mind

With Kubernetes being the base of Cloud Native infrastructures, businesses including ISV, MSP and IT consulting firms are on the lookout for solutions providing agility, cost control, and data security. In this context, OVHcloud introduces MKS Standard: an OVHcloud managed solution, both easy-to-use and natively interoperable, that ensures high resilience while it maintains transparent, competitive pricing.

OVHcloud MKS Standard is built on a multizone environment with a control plane split on several availability zones (AZ) in the same 3-AZ region. It benefits from a 99.99% SLA to guarantee service continuity for critical applications, and customers are able to keep control over their data and services.

An infrastructure built for demanding environments

Depending on workload criticality, OVHcloud MKS Standard comes with several configuration frameworks for network resources (CNI), the service having been designed with key technological partners. For the most demanding use cases, such as those in the health sector, Cilium's solution is available. The offer also leverages Kamaji's Clastix solution to manage multiple Kubernetes clusters. Advanced features are also offered, including: private node exposure, ETCD storage that can reach 8 GB, and total compatibility within the OVHcloud Public Cloud and Kubernetes ecosystems.

Designed with an "as-a-service" approach, OVHcloud MKS Standard allows customers to easily deploy and resize their clusters on demand, all while ensuring an interoperability with their usual tools.

"Our new OVHcloud Managed Kubernetes Service Standard solution aims at offering more resilience, performance and features within a multi-AZ context. We are answering to the demands of European technological players looking to speed-up their app modernization, but without compromising the reliability of their most critical data thanks to these resilient, certified, and scalable Kubernetes offers. This is the first deployment of many more planned, as we aim for availability in all of our regions." said Yaniv Fdida, Chief Product and Technology Officer OVHcloud.

An open-source solution assisting app modernization acceleration, with the help of artificial intelligence

Being a certified Kubernetes service provider, OVHcloud offers with MKS Standard an opensource solution benefiting from full reversibility without lock-in. Supporting multi and hybridcloud strategies, this solution does not require customers to depend on one particular supplier.

The launch of OVHcloud MKS Standard comes at a moment in time where app modernizations are on the rise globally, particularly impacted by initiatives surrounding artificial intelligence. By offering a managed service, OVHcloud enables customers to focus on their operational efficiency and innovation without worrying about managing the underlying infrastructure. With an improved user experience, customers are able to build applications with ever enhanced performances and reliability.

Pricing and availability

OVHcloud Managed Kubernetes Service Standard is now available in 3-AZ regions operated by OVHcloud in Europe through the OVHcloud manager, starting with the 3-AZ Paris region. This solution will launch in the 3-AZ Milan this fall. Pricing starts at 0,09 euros per hour and per deployed cluster.

The existing and free Managed Kubernetes Service offer has been rebranded as OVHcloud MKS Free.
