ACCORDO CON IREN AMBIENTE S.P.A. PER FORNITURA IMPIANTO ESTRAZIONI PREZIOSI RAEE

Torino (TO), 3 Agosto 2022 - OSAI Automation System S.p.A. (Ticker OSA), società attiva nella progettazione e produzione di macchine e linee complete per l'automazione e il testing su semiconduttori, comunica di avere firmato, assieme alla società BTT Italia S.r.l., un accordo con Iren Ambiente S.p.A., società del Gruppo Iren, per la fornitura di un impianto innovativo per il trattamento di RAEE (Rifiuti da Apparecchiature Elettriche ed Elettroniche).

L'operazione si concretizzerà nella realizzazione del primo impianto in Italia per l'estrazione, la selezione e il recupero dei metalli preziosi presenti all'interno di schede elettroniche RAEE, tra i quali oro, argento, palladio e rame. L'impianto prevede due fasi di lavoro: la prima dedicata al disassemblaggio delle schede, la seconda alla separazione e affinazione dei metalli preziosi tramite un processo idro-metallurgico. Entrambe le fasi si caratterizzano per alti livelli di efficienza e bassi impatti ambientali, grazie alla tecnologia sviluppata da Osai A.S. S.p.A. all'interno del progetto di urban mining "Re4M", in combinazione con le tecnologie del proprio partner BTT Italia S.r.l..

L'impianto, che sarà operativo dal secondo semestre del 2023, verrà realizzato all'interno del polo dedicato all'economia circolare che Iren sta sviluppando in Toscana, nel comune di Terranuova Bracciolini (provincia di Arezzo). La collocazione geografica dell'impianto faciliterà inoltre possibili sinergie industriali con l'importante distretto orafo aretino.

AGREEMENT WITH IREN AMBIENTE S.P.A. FOR SUPPLY PRECIOUS RAEE EXTRACTION PLANT

Turin, August 3rd 2022 – OSAI Automation System S.p.A. (Ticker OSA), a company that operates in the field of design and production of machines and complete lines for automation and testing on semiconductors, announces that it has signed, together with the company BTT Italia S.r.l., an agreement with Iren Ambiente S.p.A., a company of the Iren Group, to supply an innovative plant for the treatment of WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).

The deal will result in the construction of the first plant in Italy for the extraction, selection and recovery of precious metals found within WEEE electronic boards, including gold, silver, palladium and copper. The plant includes two working phases: the first dedicated to the disassembly of the boards, the second to the separation and refining of precious metals through a hydro-metallurgical process. Both phases are characterized by high levels of efficiency and low environmental impacts, thanks to the technology developed by Osai A.S. S.p.A. within the urban mining project "Re4M", in combination with the technologies of its partner BTT Italia S.r.l.

The plant, which will become operative from the second half of 2023, will be built within the pole dedicated to the circular economy that Iren is developing in Tuscany, in the municipality of Terranuova Bracciolini (Arezzo). The plant's geographical location will also facilitate possible industrial synergies with Arezzo's important goldsmith district.
