Perth, Australia; 18[th ] October 2018 : Regenerative medicine company Orthocell Limited (ASX:OCC, “Orthocell”, or the “Company”) is pleased to report the successful CelGro® bone repair study results were presented at the 27[th] European Association for Osseointegration (EAO) Annual Scientific Meeting held recently in Vienna. The EAO Annual Scientific Meeting is the industry leading global dental congress and was attended by more than 2,900 delegates and 1,000 trade representatives.
CelGro® is approved for use in Europe (CE Mark) in a variety of dental bone and soft tissue regeneration procedures and has demonstrated superior clinical performance for dental bone defect repair when compared to the market leading product. The EAO Annual Scientific Meeting provided Orthocell and its Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) with an opportunity to present the successful CelGro® bone repair clinical data and have direct interaction with clinicians, distributors and potential partners. This represents a key milestone in Orthocell’s commercialisation strategy, leading to greater awareness and recognition of Orthocell’s superior collagen membrane for dental bone defect repair.

Professor Ming Hao Zheng, from the University of Western Australia and Orthocell’s Chief Scientific Officer presented the successful CelGro® bone repair study results highlighting the membranes superior handling qualities and bone repair outcomes when used for Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) treatment to preserve or restore bone volume required for successful functional and aesthetic outcomes in dental implant procedures. Professor Zheng said: “Underpinned by its tissue integration qualities, biocompatibility and superior handling characteristics, CelGro® has demonstrated the ability to improve bone quality (up to 26% better quality newly formed bone) compared to the market leading comparative product.
The theme of the programme was “Dreams and reality in implant dentistry” and the boundaries between what is clinically possible, emerging techniques and patient expectations in the field of dental implants. Advances in technology are changing the way in which oral surgeons plan and execute dental implant solutions enabling a personalised approach to treatment plans targeting improvements in patient outcomes.
The EAO Annual Scientific Meeting provided an opportunity to build awareness of the potential patient benefits provided by best in class products such as CelGro®. Orthocell is well positioned to establish CelGro® as the best class membrane for bone repair in this significant and growing market.
