Perth, Australia; 26 March 2018: Regenerative medicine company Orthocell Limited (ASX:OCC, “Orthocell” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Giuseppe Luongo to its Medical and Scientific Advisory Board (MSAB). This appointment, following the recent appointment of Dr. Massimo Simion, ensures Orthocell is well positioned to drive CelGro® into the European market and establish the scaffold as the highest quality, best in class medical device for oral bone and soft tissue regeneration procedures.
Orthocell Managing Director Paul Anderson said: “Dr. Luongo is a globally recognised thought leader in maxillofacial surgery and compliments the recent appointment of Dr. Simion to our MSAB. Dr. Luongo is a widely published and respected expert in maxillofacial surgery, specialising in maxillofacial reconstruction, advanced dental implant techniques and other dental guided bone regeneration procedures. Dr. Luongo has published numerous scientific articles in peer reviewed journals and is the editor of the oral health section of “Doctor Life” and co-editor of the Digital Section of BMC Oral Health journal. Dr Luongo is an adjunct Professor at the School of MaxilloFacial Surgery of the University Federico II of Naples. He is a Fellow of the International College of Dentistry, founding member of the Italian Academy of Osseointegration and Digital Dentistry Society and an active member of the Academy of Osseointegration.

The appointment of Dr. Luongo and Dr. Simion to Orthocell’s MSAB follows the recent regulatory approval in Europe (CE Mark) and represents a significant milestone in CelGro®’s pathway to market. The Company has agreed to issue Dr. Luongo and Dr. Simion each 250,000 unlisted options, exercisable at $0.34 expiring 3 years from the date of issue.

The Company is executing its strategic market entry plans into Europe, which incorporates the implementation of product distribution channels designed to optimise shareholder value.
