Lundin Petroleum AB (Lundin Petroleum) is pleased to announce that the Thistle facility has received the first export oil volumes across the facility from the Dons development. The oil is commingled with Thistle's existing export oil stream and then enters the Brent System pipeline. In addition to the oil pipeline between the two facilities there is also a gas pipeline which, when commissioned, will take surplus gas from the Dons development for fuel on Thistle.
The service is provided to the Dons development via a Transportation Agreement between the parties, bringing the benefit to Thistle of a tariff income stream and a source of gas to fuel platform operations on Thistle.
Lundin Petroleum began modification of the Thistle platform in late 2009.The final tie-ins and pipeline commissioning operations were completed in early March 2010.
