Orica Board appointment

Melbourne: Orica (ASX: ORI) Chairman Mr Malcolm Broomhead today announced the appointment of Ms Denise Gibson as independent, non-executive Director, effective 1 January 2018.

Mr Broomhead said Ms Gibson’s more than 30 years’ experience in technology product development, manufacturing, logistics and supply chain would be a strong addition to the Board and complement the future growth of the company.

“I am delighted to welcome Denise to the Orica Board. She is a seasoned business leader with a strong track record in the technology sector and will bring valuable insight to the commercialisation of Orica’s technology portfolio and broader operations,” he said.

Ms Gibson will offer herself for election as a Director at the next Annual General Meeting in December 2018.

Denise Gibson Biography

Denise Gibson is a seasoned Chief Executive and board member with 30 years of experience in consumer electronics design, manufacturing, logistics and supply chain, combined with more recent experience in marketing, distribution and retail services. In addition to extensive corporate experience at Motorola in senior executive management and marketing roles, Denise has launched two privately owned companies in the wireless industry - Brightstar US, of which Denise was Founder and CEO for 10 years, and Ice Mobility (Co-Founder and Chairman), which have grown from start-up to high-growth and profitable organisations.

Denise is also a director of NASDAQ-listed VOXX International Corporation and is on the Board of two non-profit organisations – the Consumer Technology Association and the Consumer Technology Association Foundation.

Denise is a US citizen and resides in North America.
