Orica Announces Senior Management Changes

Orica today announced that, as a consequence of the internal organisational restructure process, John Beevers, the Global Head of Manufacturing will leave Orica on 1 October 2012. Greg Witcombe, the Global Head of Orica Chemicals, will also leave Orica on 24 December 2012.

Chief Executive Officer, Ian Smith, announced that Richard Hoggard will succeed John Beevers as the new Global Head of Manufacturing. Richard has been with Orica for 25 years and has held both global manufacturing and business facing roles. Most recently Richard, as part of the current organisational restructure, was appointed to the position of Manufacturing Executive and appointed as a member of Orica’s Executive Committee. His appointment to the role of Global Head of Manufacturing accords with internal succession plans. Mr Hoggard will report directly to Ian Smith in his new role.

A process is currently underway to identify Mr Witcombe’s successor.

Mr Smith paid tribute to long serving Orica Group employees, Mr Beevers and Mr Witcombe.

John has, through his long career with Orica, held a number of roles in Orica’s Chemicals and Mining Services businesses. ‘Greg has made a significant contribution to Orica over many years, having held a number of key senior roles within the Group including Managing Director of Incitec Pivot Limited when Orica held a majority interest in that company, returned to Orica as General Manager People and Community and, most recently, has held the position of Global Head of Orica Chemicals. We all wish to acknowledge Greg’s efforts on behalf of Orica and wish him well for the future’.
