Stépan Breedveld, CEO of Ordina N.V., has decided to leave the company effective 1 April 2017. He will be succeeded by Jo Maes, who has successfully headed Ordina's activities in Belgium/Luxembourg since 2014.
Stépan Breedveld on his departure: "We have reached the final stages in the turnaround and Ordina is once again a healthy company. We are making a profit, we are starting to grow again and we are free of debt as of the end of the first half of 2016. Our tightened strategy is paying off and we have continued to invest in new employees, competencies and propositions. In addition, the cost savings programme has now been completed. For me, the past six years have been intense and we had to make substantial demands on our management and our employees. I have completed my task and this is a logical moment to decide to leave the company. Our people deserve a major compliment and I want to thank them for their contributions to our success. I'm proud to hand over my responsibilities to Jo Maes, someone with whom I have worked very closely."

The Supervisory Board has appointed Jo Maes (48) as member of the management Board effective 1 January 2017 and as Chairman of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective 1 April 2017. The announcement of his appointment as statutory director will be placed on the agenda of an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) to be convened on 7 December of this year. Jo Maes joined Ordina Belgium/Luxembourg in 2011 and has been CEO of Ordina Belgium/Luxembourg since 2014. For more background information, we refer you to the attached Curriculum Vitae.
In line with the Management and Supervision Act, which came into effect on 1 January 2013, Mr. Maes has signed a management agreement for a period of four years, calculated from the moment of his appointment as statutory director of Ordina N.V. His remuneration package is in accordance with the Ordina N.V. remuneration policy, as approved by the General Meeting of Shareholders.
