The securities of Monaro Mining NL (the "Company") will be placed in pre-open at the request of the Company, pending the release of an announcement by the Company. Unless ASX decides otherwise, the securities will remain in pre-open until the earlier of the commencement of normal trading on Monday, 26 October 2009 or when the announcement is released to the market.

Monaro Mining NL ("Monaro") requests a trading halt pending a further announcement by the Company regarding a capital raising. Monaro expects the trading halt to be lifted by Monday 26 October, 2009.
Monaro confirms that:
- . further information will be provided to the market by Monaro as soon as details of the transaction have been finalised; and
- it is not aware of any reason why the trading halt should not be granted.
