Changes initiated to strengthen Board of Directors

United States-focused diversified explorer Australian-American Mining Corporation Limited (ASX: AIW) (“AusAmerican” or “the company”) is pleased to announce that it has appointed an Executive Recruitment Consultant to source an experienced nonExecutive Chairman.

Following the initial positive results at the maiden drilling program at the company’s flag ship Blue Bell copper/gold/silver project in Arizona, the company believes that it should be positioning itself to transition from explorer to the next phase. Chairman Mr Jim Malone will step down when a suitable candidate is appointed and will remain a Director and Company Secretary.

Commenting on the appointment of the Executive search consultant, AusAmerican Managing Director Mr Richard Holmes said: “The Company is encouraged by the recent drill results and believes it is the right time to strengthen the Board by finding an experienced Chairman who has a successful track record in developing mining projects. It is the Board’s view that finding an experienced Chairman with the relevant experience is one of the priorities in taking the company forward”.

AusAmerican is currently in a trading halt pending an announcement on a capital raising. The company expects to make an announcement on the outcome of the raising shortly.
