ORBIS AG generates profits

The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. —————————————————————————— Saarbrücken, May 24, 2005 – As of March 31, 2005, ORBIS AG reported consolidated sales to the tune of EUR 5.429 million for the first quarter of the 2005 fiscal year (previous year: EUR 5.633 million). These sales were primarily generated by consultancy projects in the company’s focus sectors: industrial companies, automotive suppliers, the consumer goods industry, and the commerce sector. The consolidated results for the period under review totaled EUR 311,000 (previous year: EUR 87,000). This corresponds to a profit per share of EUR 0.034 (2004: EUR 0.010). The operating result (EBIT) for the first three months totaled EUR 304,000 (previous year: EUR 71,000). Accordingly, stockholders’ equity increased to EUR 16.732 million during the period under review; total assets were also up. This corresponds to an increase of the equity ratio to 60.0 percent (57.3 percent as of March 31, 2004). The cash flow from operating activities showed a positive balance of EUR 747,000 million (Q1 2004: minus EUR 707,000). Accordingly, cash and cash equivalents rose by EUR 459,000, compared with the annual financial statements for 2004. At the beginning of the second quarter, the ORBIS Group can already boast an order level that is equivalent to 70.0 percent of the planned total annual sales for 2005. The cost structures have been further optimized. Other operating expenses fell by 17 percent to EUR 1.175 million (Q1 2004: EUR 1.422 million). Personnel expenses dropped to EUR 3.660 million (Q1 2004: EUR 3.680 million). As of the March 31, 2005 reporting date, ORBIS employed 187 staff (2004: 191).
