CHANGE OF COMPANY SECRETARY

Monarch Gold Mining Company Limited (ASX:MON) advises both Frank Campagna and Keith Vuleta have today retired as joint Company Secretaries and that Patrick McCole has been appointed as the Company Secretary effective from 25 January 2008.

Mr Campagna has been the Company Secretary of Monarch since its incorporation in 2002 and will maintain an involvement with Monarch by providing ongoing consulting services.

Mr Vuleta remains as Finance Director of the Company.

Monarch Chairman Michael Kiernan said Frank should be acknowledged for his commitment to building value for shareholders.

"We would like to thank Frank for his service as he has played an important role in the establishment of Monarch Gold. The Company is most grateful for his efforts," Mr Kiernan said.

"Our management team will be further strengthened by the appointment of Patrick and I am sure he will make an important contribution to the development of Monarch into a 500,000oz per annum producer by December 2009."

Mr McCole is currently the Company Secretary at Territory Resources Limited and was previously a Company Secretary at Alinta Limited and prior to that was the Assistant Company Secretary at Foodland Associated Limited. Mr McCole holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce both from Murdoch University.
