Opthea Limited (ASX: OPT) – Trading Halt

Description

The securities of Opthea Limited (‘OPT’) will be placed in trading halt at the request of OPT, pending it releasing an announcement in relation to a proposed capital raising. Unless ASX decides otherwise, the securities will remain in trading halt until the earlier of the commencement of normal trading on Wednesday, 12 June 2024 or when the announcement is released to the market.

Request for Trading Halt

Pursuant to Listing Rule 17.1, Opthea Limited (ACN 006 340 567) ( Opthea ) requests an immediate trading halt in its quoted securities (ASX Code: OPT), to apply from the open of trading today, Friday June 7, 2024.

In accordance with Listing Rule 17.1, Opthea provides the following information:

• the trading halt is requested to allow Opthea to reasonably manage its continuous disclosure obligations pending an announcement by Opthea in relation to a proposed capital raising;

• Opthea requests that the trading halt remain in place until the earlier of a further announcement to the market by Opthea in relation to the proposed equity raising or the commencement of trading on Wednesday, 12 June 2024; and

• Opthea is not aware of any reason why the trading halt should not be granted or of any other information necessary to inform the market about the trading halt.
