OHB and Thales Alenia Space signing contracts for Meteosat Third Generation
(MTG) worth around EUR 750 million

Berlin, April 26, 2012 - OHB System AG and Kayser-Threde GmbH, both
subsidiaries of OHB AG (Prime Standard, ISIN: DE0005936124), have today
signed contracts for the development, construction and testing of the
third-generation MTG weather satellites with Thales Alenia Space, the prime
contractor in this programme. The contracts provide for the overall
responsibility for two MTG-S sounding satellites and four satellite
platforms and telescopes for the MTG-I imaging satellites.

As a result, the total contractual project volume assigned to the OHB Group
has now risen to some EUR 750 million, resulting in record order books of
EUR 1.9 billion.

The contracts are the result of a decision made by the European Space
Agency (ESA) and the European Organization for the Exploitation of
Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) in 2010 in favour of the industrial
team comprising Thales Alenia Space and OHB System. Since this decision was
made, development work has been implemented in accordance with
'authorizations to proceed' (ATPs). The general contract between ESA and
Thales Alenia Space was signed on February 24th of this year.

ESA is the development agency for the first two (one imaging and one
sounding) satellites and the procurement agency on behalf of EUMETSAT for
the recurring satellites. EUMETSAT will be the owner and operator of all
six satellites.
