Sub.: Update on Acquisition of shares in North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Ltd. (NEEPCO) and THDC India Ltd. (THDC) – Disclosure pursuant to Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015

Pursuant to Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 and in continuation of our earlier letters dated March 26, 2020, this is to inform you that on March 27, 2020, NTPC Limited has completed acquisition of entire equity stake of Government of India in NEEPCO and THDC i.e. 100% of paid-up equity share capital of NEEPCO and 74.496% of paid-up equity share capital of THDC.

With the above NTPC Limited has become the holding company and also a promoter of NEEPCO and THDC.
