In line with the corporate di s closure requirement under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Dis c losure Requirements) Regulations 2015, we wish to inform that :

In pursuance of Article 41 of the Articles of Association of N T PC Limited, Ministry of Power has, vide its Order No. 8/4/2019-Th.-1 dated 31 [s] t December, 2019, conveyed appr o val of the Competent Authority for ap p ointment of Shri Dillip Kumar P a tel, GM, NTPC to the post of Director (Human Resources), NTPC Li m ited w.e.f. the date of his assumption of c harge of the post on or after 1.4.2 0 20 till the date of his superannuation or until further orders, whichever is th e earlier.

Shri Dillip Kumar Pat e l (DIN:08695490) has taken charge as D i rector (HR), NTPC on 1[st] April 202 0 . He started his career in NTPC way bac k in 1986 as an Engineering Exec u tive Trainee (XI batch). Shri Patel’s asc e nt from his humble beginning as a n Executive Trainee to the top echelons of HR function in NTPC signifies his passion, commitment and hard work. He g raduated in Mechanical Engineeri n g from NIT, Rourkela and did his Po s t Graduate Diploma in Business M anagement (HR & Finance) from MDI, G urgaon. He has also received management and leadership training inputs f rom ESCPEAP (Paris, Berlin & T urin), Harvard Business School (USA), IS B Hyderabad & XLRI Jamshedpur.

He has an illustrious c a reer spanning over more than three deca d es entailing both line and HR f u nctions. After initial exposure of worki n g in O&M (Mechanical Maintena n ce & CHP Operation) and EDC at Korb a , he took a leap in his career and switched to core HR function in 1997. He looked after various facets of HR a t Korba and subsequently moved on to become the Head of HR of Kolda m , the first hydro project of NTPC. He had been Head of

HR at various projects of NTPC such as NSPCL-Bhilai, Sipat, a n d Tanda for about 13 years. He h ad a short stint as Regional Head of H R of Eastern Region-II before being appointed to the post of Director (HR) in N T PC.

He has undertaken v a rious challenging assignments and has successfully managed HR function s while working at various locations compri s ing thermal, hydro, JVs as well as taken-over projects. He firmly believes in th e philosophy of “People before PLF ” . His varied experience and deep underst a nding of the underlying culture of t h e organization will help HR to excel and a chieve new heights in the days to c ome in NTPC.

Shri Dillip Kumar Pate l does not hold any share of NTPC and h e is not interse related with other directors on the Board of the Company.
