- Interpretation of Aeromagnetic data to be concluded in the fourth quarter of 2012
Redbank Copper Limited (ASX:RCP) (“Redbank” or “Company”) advises that it has contracted and commenced a significant aeromagnetic survey over EL10335 in the Northern Territory of Australia. The Company has the right to earn up to 85% of that part of the tenement that is the subject of the Wollogorang Joint Venture (WJV) Agreement between Redbank and Gulf Mines Limited (ASX:GLM) (“Gulf”).
The Company announced on 11 June 2012 that agreement had been reached with Gulf, to amend the existing WJV Agreement. The amendments to the agreement were that certain expenditure milestones needed to be met through to August 2013. Redbank was to spend $500,000 by 14 August 2012, including $117,833 already expended, to earn 49%. Redbank was able to increase its percentage share to 80% by spending $850,000 before 14 August 2013 and could elect to spend a further $150,000 in the same period and earn a further 5%.
In order to meet the expenditure milestones in the most efficient manner and keep the WJV on track, the Company arranged for a full aeromagnetic survey to be flown over that part of EL10335 that is the subject of the WJV.
The survey, despite initial delays in mobilization due to aircraft technical issues, is now well under way and the latest summary indicates that good progress has been achieved. The contracted total survey is for almost 42,000 line kilometres, flown at a line spacing of 50 metres and to date almost 80% has been completed. The survey is expected to continue for another 2 weeks.
The survey data will be interpreted once the raw data has been received. This interpretation will be used to highlight and prioritise targets for the 2013 exploration program as well as identify areas that may need more specific targeting techniques to be applied. It is expected that the interpretation will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2012.
The Company will be working hard with Gulf in the short term to finalise the documentation necessary to formally establish the WJV.

The tenement that is the subject of the WJV is strategically important to the Company as it surrounds the historical Redbank Copper Mine situated on ERL94, which contains all of the Company’s known copper resources. The southern portion of EL10335 is not subject to the WJV and Gulf will apply to the Department of Mines to assign a separate exploration license to the southern portion of the tenement - see figure below:
